Some Palm Beach Love for you…
From Celerie Kemble
I am Hooked on Mango’s lately…and try them in everything!
Yep….marry the smooth creamy green with the ripe orangey-gold…
Nectar of the Gods I tell ya!
there he is on the bottom left. He’s shy…even blushing
Whats for dinner?
Why…I’m glad you asked.
Grilled Snapper with a wonderful smoked paprika and cumin rub…with corn salsa, fresh tomatillo sauce and Mango guacamole…all piled high on a corn tostada with a key lime remoulade sauce.
Easy Peasy puddin’ and pie!
Start by adding some diced mango to your favorite Guacamole recipe.
MY fave guac recipe has chopped scallions, cilantro jalapenos, sea salt…
Add the mango. The sweet with the bite of pepper is sublime.
Corn salsa with fresh corn…find the recipe here.
I add some yogurt…just a dab…for creaminess.
This is great all by itself...actually everything here is great
all by itself!
Tomatillos…those husky little green tomato looking creatures.
Husk ‘em, roast ‘em in the oven with some hot peppers Jalapeno, cubano
...whatever fits on your dance card
When they are soft and roasted…pop ‘em in the blender with a nice handful of cilantro
It is green…healthy…good for ya… and will add a touch of spice to your friday.
Now...Mix up some Key Lime sauce, Baby!
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon lime zest
1 1/4 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Stack everything on a friendly corn tostada….
Would I lead you astray?
I think not.
Our little Casita (guest house)…is home to Grandma B.
we made a few teensy changes this weekend...
and found a couple of interesting antler lamps.
Originally it was built as a lodge, of sorts
…dark, no kitchen
it’s not a small guest house (1100 SF)…but Grandma B has a lot
of big furniture…
The 1970’s fireplace had a rock wall behind it…
and while I would love to paint the fireplace
That isn’t happening this weekend sigh…
but we did paint the rock.
The machete worthy
tropical jungle survives…even thrives.
It has been dry, dry, dry here of late.
The ever changing casita…
Anything new at your Casa??
Happy Memorial Day...relax...and remember those that serve
and have served us.
So…we had to get a new fridge.
so nice to go back to freezer on the bottom again. Missed it!
So…I think…maybe now the kitchen will stay spotless.
Not so much.
Apparently , according to the sign in the pantry…whining doesn’t fly in this casa…
So… I had to resort to the big guns.
**Mothers hide your childrens eyes…faint of heart…find another blog to peruse**
…Can’t quite make it out?
Simple sentiment in dainty embroidery.
That should do it.
My mother of the year award should be coming any day.
Yep…any day now.
ok ok I'll put the tea towel back in the drawer...way in the back

Travelling virtually to the other side of the world
I found talented and inspiring interior designer Laurie Owens
Love her use of organic, from the earth materials
She has designed many safari lodges throughout the continent of Africa
I am such a sucker for the simplicity of these bathrooms
They strike me as
meaningful for the spirit
beautiful for the soul
and nurturing for the body.
…and just plain ‘ole cool
Her work tends to remind you of exactly where you are…
using items from the earth
each place she designs.
Sticks and stones
Think I’ll stay awhile
