Bathroom re-do...

Ok.

So, this is actually working. We did get some grouting done! Next, to the bathroom, to put the plumbing cover back on the wall in the closet. Heat from the attic is coming through. Boring, yes. But needs doing...and a year is long enough to procrastinate on it. Don't 'cha think?

How's about a little tour of the bath re-do, while I get that done?

It was a sad, sad bathroom. A beauty in harvest gold and broken tile...oh I wish I had a pic of the cheetah wallcovering that graced it too.
Here is the finished product (well, soon as that cover is put back on):

We found a gorgeous old altar table that we actually had the courage to cut a hole in...The wood holds up beautifully. Just use a bit of brixwax every once in ahwile.
replaced the old door with a frosted glass one. Instant light. Seagrass wallcovering (our little secret: Not real, but vinyl...you really cannot tell until you go to feel it).

put an old mangrove root on the wall to hold hand towels, or robes...or jeans...
Here she is in all her former glory. Now some of our hardcore retro friends (you know who you are) loved the old tile. We...not so much. plus it was damaged beyond repair.
We hired (read:made) our kids and their friends to "remove" the tile. Sledgehammers and only one little trip to the hospital ensued. Whoops. But they were good workers, and stuck through to the end. Our parenting philosophy: If they help build, maybe they will keep their towels off the floor.
Not so much. But we tried.

That bathroom is absolutely gorgeous! You did a fantastic job of repurposing that table. I had to giggle at the picture, though. It looks like you've planted your lucky bamboo in your vessel sink! :)

Thanks for your comments Megan,Just and Kristi!

that vanity happened to fit the spot perfectly...And, as a bathroom for some teens it is REMARKABLE (the wood, the way it fends off everything...from water to shaving cream to toothpaste to make-up to pesto sauce. Oy...don't ask about that last one.

Kristi..you are right, looks pretty funny. I actually just snapped the pic (it is not planted)...day in the life...hey at least you don't see the pesto sauce, right?.
