baring my soul on a wednesday afternoon...

I collect old gasoline numbers.

why? Dunno

I don't fix bookcases in Library/office to look nice...we generally use the shove 'em in method.

Why? Dunno.

This pillow scares me and makes me laugh...all in the same moment.

Why? Dunno. {Boo}

Now... I just love these little guys...Ex-Votos.
They always make me smile.

And... that above? I dunno.

Have any of your own peculiarities you care to share???

What IS that pod thing? I collect wasp nests? Weird, I know, but I think they're beautiful. The nests, not the wasps.

Oh...they ARE intricate Sandra...but I put them in the scary category!

That is actually a barnacle...sitting in a trough tray made out of a boat hull. Weird but true.

I've got a giant container of marachas. And a big blue piece of glass that I called my 'blue diamond' when I was little (it's as big as my head).

And I LOVE the barnacle. It's perfect.

I thought it was something ocean-y!

I have a collection of Nolan's finds on my desk, colored feathers from a feather duster, a marble, various rocks, etc. Little gifts from my little dude - i will always cherish them.

The only other odd thing I seem to be collecting lately is random bits of dog hair. Yick, I know! But with two crazy labradors, it adds up! :)

I love the numbers--they're a favorite of mine for decorating. And the pillow is great! Those colors are perfect.

Old brass cow tags: My fave is #29:My eternalage-at least until my daughter asks why I had her at 11.
I also like cigar boxes and vintage martini glasses- who doesn't?

Lovin' all these oddities and collections! Beautiful!

Actually the 42 is a very important number to me. It is my Dad. When I was 7 or 8 and trying to learn my multiplication tables...he the multiple math degreed engineer would sit me down and try to get to my level. For some reason I always remember "6X7 is 42 it was always 42 it will always BE 42...forever."

42...It was kinda our code.I love you in math engineer terms.

My dad has been gone for 12 years...and to have a big ole' 42 just hanging out...just warms the cockles of my soul.

Awesome. We are totally related in spirit, because I just hung up my new gas numbers in the hallway two days ago.... I get them from this fabulous etsy shop, that's filled with all kinds of cool, funky vintage: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5034485

My latest bit o' quirk? This gameboard framed chalkboard: http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=10131235

100% awesome.

First time checking you out, thanks to Joni at Cote de Texas.
I love the way you write and compose the typefaces of your blog. It's poetry!
I have so many "I dunnos" ha ha ha
But that's what makes us tick, not knowing, but feeling something, which is its own kind of knowing. You know?

I so love those "Pot Heads"! Wish I had my pottery studio up and running as I have a hankering to try something like that.

Hi Linda,
Love your sweet story about your Dad and the number 42. So precious!

I collect anything that can be dried and preserved from artichokes to hydrangeas to acorns....anything in nature. I love to find a treelimb with that lovely blue- green mossy stuff growing on it. Oh, I love, love the cones that come off magnolia trees. I have tons of these things if you are ever in need ! Ha! I use alot of them to decorate at Christmas.
Love your Blog!

Great post! I like glass bottles with caning, used as canteens during the Civil War. I have a couple that still have the lead caps on them. It makes you wonder how many soldiers went nuts from lead poisoning.

Love your numbers, and everything that when put together makes it your style!

Wow, you have a really unique style - the numbers are awesome! I happen to love anything 'beachy' and I'm always drawn to anything red.

Those numbers are really great! I love weird finds like that and what a neat way to display them. I love it.

I have an entire collection of 80's items from my childhood. Stickers, kid's records, weird toys. The records and sticker designs are super cool. I might frame them and display in my office or kid's rooms. I keep all kinds of weird things, but never know what to do with them!

Thanks for stopping by my site. I love your blog.

Have a great Friday!

I love your numbers!! I have a sea glass / pebble / shell collection that keeps growing and growing. From the Amalfi Coast to Sicily to the Jersey Shore, wherever we go, I can't come home without a jar of beach treasures. I'm still trying to come up with ways for displaying them. Right now they're in different jars all over our condo.
