I was intrigued by this light fixture...
It was huge, and strung with blown glass fishing floats...
It was in a house, in a local tour of homes...
Many murals were on the walls
..and on the chairs
And behind the cooktop...
I
did love this collection of
tropical flowers and fruits....
More interesting tropicals...
Great ceiling details...
out back
overlooking the river...
Come drink the
koolaid with me.

Cheers to the koolaid! The chandelier is intriguing.
WOW. Take me HOME!
"Kool" chandelier! My collection of japanese fishing floats should be scared!! Was that lampshade in the photo with the ceiling fan really orange? I love it! j.
That light is the coolest - what a grand idea!
I want the pillows on the settee in the first picture. I'm NOT afraid to drive over to Vero for a tour of homes and some iced tea :)
If I saw the light on its own I would probably pass it by but, it is perfect in that room. I love the settee...I have been on the hunt for one for my breakfast room.
I'm intrigued by that chandlier with the glass floats too, love ceative lighting! Not so much by all the murals, a little bit too much of a good thing...
Beautiful light fixture! I also love the color on the shutters.
I love that light !!!!!!!!
love the chandelier, and the chair backs, and the walls, wow, koolaid infusion please...
ok, this can be my new "favorite home"...
love the interesting vaulted ceiling, the front door entrance,
the fishing float light, the green bowl on the table...the contrast of light and dark...very very nice.
is this tour of homes going still ongoing (sunday)?
Hi all...no it was a one day tour of about 6 homes.
Some of them were way over the top (just not my style) this one, however, had some nice details and a feel in the kitchen/FR.
Murals EVERYWHERE. Interesting but a bit much (I did appreciate the one in the DR though)...I added a few more pix of the house.
Interesting light fixture.
That's alotta murals. The Hummingbird reminds me of one I did. It is in the home of our dentist. In the sun room. I painted it ten years ago. When I had my check up recently...the hygienist, who is also the dentists wife....told me, she wants to paint the room, but doesn't want to cover the mural. It's all around the windows!! I told her, I don't know how in the world she could paint that room without painting over parts of the mural.
No, I do not go up ladders these days...so I wouldn't be able to repair it. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if she painted over it. But she wants to keep it. And she knows "the artist" has vertigo, now...:-)
Hope your Sunday is beautiful. Our snow passed us by. The sun is shining over the lake and a couple of g'kids are visiting!! What more could I ask!
Love that chandelier! It reminds me of floating bubbles and adds such a wonderful crowning touch to that space.
Oh that bathroom and space above the cook top, wow! Everything is so tastefully done in such a beautiful tropical flair. Love IT!
I saw my first cardinal yesterday! I think we're on the heals of spring up here.
Blessings - Debbie
I've been wanting a similar chandelier for ages. I found one on sale at a local lighting store -- now I have to find a room to put it in and then convince my hubby that we really, really need it!!
I like the trees painted onto the backs of the chairs. And the tropical flower arrangements are great :-)
Thanks for the house tour :-)

I wish I could jump into that pool with a raft right now! I miss having a pool (sigh)
I loved the last post about the 1930s cottages in the Keys. I want to visit there so badly some day!

I'm back... this time with a thank you! I'm sure it was this post that had me come across 6 small (the really hard to find size) japanese fishing floats at an antique shop today! All 6 for $7! Thanks again for putting the float energy out there!! Do you think you could maybe do a post about kitchen dining tables next?! I'll be looking for one of those soon! j.
I love, love, love that lighting fixture!
Ooooooh, that ceiling...that gorgeous, gorgeous ceiling.
Thank you for yet another inspiration pic!
-Nat :)
Just found your blog...love all the beautiful places you show!
Hard to imagine, but it really is possible to do a little too much Florida. Great home, but I was a little distracted by the multiple murals. What am I talking about?..I have orange walls!
Ooh, that light! I love it! You always share the best homes and ideas with us!!
Cheers,
Linda
Awesome house! I love those murals. My girlfriend does murals like that. The chairs are unique too! Thanks for stopping by and letting me know that the pink chairs fade. I am definitely getting them and making sure they sit out in the sun. Lol!
on a side note, thought of you when I saw this recipe:

:)
Love the tropical flower arrangements, remind me of Hawaii. The glass ball floaters.....interesting use for them.
I'd like the mural in the dinning room if they had not painted the chairs too but understated is not in the So.FL vocab is it? lol
I love the front entry.
So pretty! I love the ceiling detail!
I love the high ceilings in that one photo. I love the glass fishing floats, too, but I'm not quite sure about using them like that. :)
Oh, wow - what an amazingly beautiful home! That light fixture is just beautiful!
Gasping with hysterical laughter over an armoire swooning "thunk"...
I could take the kool-splash in that tropical setting. And of course oggle fishing floats and murals between sips.
That light fixture is quite unique! I love the tropical flowers! I think the house has mural overkill though! but... who am i to say?... it IS a lovely home.... love the slipcovers on the dining chairs...
What fun photos and cool site!

I love the light fixture. I've seen a chandelier recently just light that...nothing but blue bubbles. Fabulous. I'm also quite the fan of murals and have done many for clients. They are magical in the right room!
