I Love textiles…the older, the more graphic the better.
I recently brought home a small sweet 90 year old Turkish Tulu rug.
That’s almost 700 years…in Dog years.
Tulu actually means long haired in Turkish…
They were made by mountain nomads
coarsley woven with long goats wool
…often using the natural color.
It is said they were made to be used as mattresses. Oh my back.
this one above via Yarrow155.com
The one below spotted in Elle Decor…
Ours is subtle, and could be used as a rug…or a throw on a chair, bed or sofa…
Not sure where it’s home will be in this casa…
But I most definitely Tulu…
Do you??

OMG. I haven't Tulu-ed yet, but I think I should!!! So, so, so jealous! I love the colors, too. Sadie would feel right at home rubbing her grubby body all over it!
i do 'tulu'!!!!
but...
i am dying for that little gold chair with the blue and white fabric.
xx
tulu is new to me :)))))
and looks like it found a perfect new home with you!
Hey lady - I haven't stopped by in a while but the blog is looking great! I featured it in a recent post on Decorology. Hope all's well!
Definitely. Well, not actually. I have wall-to-wall terrazzo floors here in Florida. In the condo up north, it's wall-to-wall frieze carpeting that I hate. One day, I'm tearing it out...then I can Tulu. :)
I still envy your blue/white stripe vase.
i never knew that i tulu, but apparently i do!

I'm afraid my big black dog would eat it.
Ha! My BBD (big black dog) was sure it was for HIM! Zelda...Mine smells like those little square caramel's. Odd.
Oooooh Tulu people...Tulu!!
I love your Tulu.....(and your house!). I haven't seen your BBD lately...I am sure he thought the Tulu was for him! xo
I don't, but I sure as well have to start! Love the shag, love the history, love the artistry, and most DEFINITELY in love with that chevron one...Wow, congrats on such an awesome purchase...Can't wait to see how you style it in the future! Thanks for sharing!
