Early Saturday musings…

Up this morning at dark thirty…walking on the beach with a friend

…not solving world issues…per se.

But solving.

Witnessing the sun wake over the liquid blue grey sea.

The air is smoky from nearby fires…the earth is thirsty from lack of rain

a cactus in our front yard is tired and dying

I was to lazy to pull it out…

...and just ignored it in that way you can when life is busy

…until passing by it on the way home from the beach walk this early morning

IMG_9595

and noticing life..tons of life…tons of babies.

burgeoning babies

Wow, you never know what's going on beneath or behind the scenes! Wish I could pass you some of the rain that's been deluging us and our grandsons' ballgames since the first of May...we hardly ever get lovely days outdoors...it's always raining.

WOW! I love cactus blooms. I think few flowers in the world can compare to them. But I had no idea that kind of cactus would make babies or flowers like that! So glad it got a chance to prove it was worth keeping! :) And I love that quote.

Hi Linda!
Linda you just blew me away..... I have a candle at the shop, it is a beautiful tealight from France and it is a desert cactus flower.... I love it and put it in my blog of April 28th with French Cocottes. It has a white top and green leaves on the bottom with the almost gold color in the center of the white on top... I never knew what cactus it was from but it is the one you showed on your blog!!!!It amazes me how the lives of plants can evolve...... A frog sometimes turns into a prince....Great post..Maryanne xo

I kill with the "water-water-water panic" too! Isn't nature just so cool? Loved this post.

WOW! Nature has an amazing way of surprising us sometimes, doesn't it?! I had a dead sago palm that went from nothing to something in a matter of three days. I couldn't believe my eyes!

Oh how lovely Linda....I never knew cactus reproduced this way. It is a metaphor of our lives, when we are tired, God breathes life back into us...

Am so impressed...a story within a story. I was expecting beautiful beach scenes with incorporated sunrise and instead, photos to blow my assumptions out of the water.
I will never remove a perceptionally dying cactus from the earth again.
Thank you!
