Kids bath in Kitchen and Bath Magazine…

In the newstands I found mine waiting in line in Publix grocery store Is the newest edition

of Better Homes and Gardens Kitchen and Bath magazine

One of the features is our kids bathroom.

However…now it is decidedly a HIS bathroom…as the lone girl (willing to no longer share with three brothers) claimed a powder room as hers

Call me crazy, but I always wanted to put a urinal in a kids bath…3 boys…c’mon. Keeping it real.

Huge thank you to Becky the stylist and writer extraordinaire …and to Meredith Magazines for giving two of our bathrooms a little place in print!

Out to look for urinals…seriously.

Saw your feature in Becky's blog. Congratulations!!! You really do have style! And I don't blame your daughter for not wanting to share a bathroom with her brothers. Boys can be soooooo MESSY!

Okay, maybe I missed something. When was this photo shoot? Did you know this article was coming out or were you looking through the magazine and it was just there?

That is so cool! Congratulations!

Beautiful bathrooms Linda! Love that piece of furniture as bathroom counter/vanity. They've done one of my projects like that, published 3 times now. A kitchen I did in 2007. I still get calls on it from all over. I guess our work has staying power! Congrats! Again!

If you find a good source for that urinal, let me know! {seriously} your daughter was smart!
The bathroom looks great - I love the piece of furniture that the beautiful sink is on/in. Contests on the well deserved feature!

Jackie...the little razor dish is from West Elm.

Steve...actually, I thought this mag had been killed, it had a bit different name. So...I was not expecting to see our bathroom in print. Funny thing is...I leafed through this mag for awhile (again...in line at publix) but never got to our bath...until the other day. So yeah...kinda a surprise!

Carla...do you have pics of your kitchen??

Thanks all...

Awesomeness!!!
I think a urinal could be fantastic! Wonder if you could get your hands on one like they have in semi-public areas in Italy? Almost has the appearance of a lovely wall fountain.

Cool or cheezeball???

Well it's about time it turned up; glad it didn't disappear when the magazine name shifted a bit.

And it's great that so many others will have the chance to see your gorgeous work.

ps Re the urinal: Great idea; you can alway call it a "pissoir" to sound classy, ha. Mr Vix made one for the cats and it does solve some problems....

Yay! This is so fantastic!!!
Congratulations. Not sure if I'm congratulating you more for the article or for raising all those boys!
btw: we've installed urinals in several bathrooms for families that are loaded with boys. It's a good thing.

LOVE it!!! How fun to 'see' the article on the beautiful vanity!!

As a mother of three boys, I'd put in a urinal. No thought needed. I can't imagine having my boys bathroom in a magazine. After wading through the towels, underwear and clothes on the floor, one might just find a toilet.

Congrats on the write up. I've admired Becky's blog for a long time.

Congratulations!! And, both times you found it yourself in the magazine at the store. Crazy!! It is on my "list" for the store! Can't wait to see your fab bath on the glossy pages!
Smart girl btw!

That is SO cool! It totally deserves to be in print. Our basement bathroom is plumbed for a urinal, so I don't think it's an odd idea at all! My husband is so excited to finish the basement JUST so he can use the urinal! Just love your bathroom!

Maxey Farms said...

Great bath! The details are lovely. Especially the lighting which is not shown in the pictures on your blog. Where is the fixture over the vanity from?

Linda@ Lime in the Coconut said...

Hey Maxey farms! I couldn't find a site or email to respond to you...hopefully you will see this!

That fixture came from Lowes....and was in the clearance bin for 5 bucks! I snapped it up and kept it in the garage for years! Then found a home for it. .
So sorry.
