So…With paint brush in hand…I have a lofty goal of panting all of our windows black.
maybe not all this weekend
but it is a goal
before…yucky ugly metal on guest house
My plan is to also paint our house…again, not this long weekend…but this year…
I am looking at a classic hacienda white
Inspiration pics from pinterest
While I painted and dreamed…I also got a call…ran out…and spent the rest of the day and night helping a new baby into the world…
Others…not so motivated,…
Held down
The fort…

The windows look AH-MAZING!!!! What a difference a coat of black paint makes-beautiful!
The windows are FAB and I love the Hacienda White look!
You know I painted all 23 inside doors on 2 levels of my home black last August? Lots of work, but a really nice difference.
Ha ha, that pooch is something else!!! Guest house, lookin' good, ambitious one!
Wow Renae...IMPRESSIVE! That is a lot o' door painting!
Love the black windows! I love your colors, but white is fresh and appealing too. Keep us posted!
Love the 'new' black windows! And your beautiful big black dog. He knows how to relax.. that's for sure! :D
I should explain...the salmon color is on the guesthouse (casita) It will probably stay...our main house s a pale yellow (ish) right now...I want to go white on it.
Thanks for the nput guys!!
I LOVE the color your house is now! the windows look fabulous. I have been wanting to do something different to my doors and I think your black and salmon would be perfect for me. What color are your shutters? love it. Motivating the dog? vera funny...claps hands wink.
Ooooh, the black looks great! And you've got another vote for hacienda white.
What an amazing difference...love the black!!
Mmm. Benjamin Moore Moonlight White gets my vote. The black frames look awesome. Can we please have a side of weathered turquoise front door with that?
YOUR windows look amazing, not sure why, but I'm crazy over this look. Janell
Benjamin Moore Moonlight White is my favorite! Thanks for stopping by RHS always!
The black looks great! I am still trying to motivate on the painting!
I can't wait to see the finish project. Oh your pup loves to lay just like mine. :)
BTW my shutter on the camera was fixed and for a dime too! Yahoo...
Hugs..xo
ferget the dog. They're like man/boys.They run/hide the other way when we get "that look" in our eyes.
The black looks great Linda, Love the white and black look.....and bright lime shutters would be awesome!!!! I just posted a collage of Lime in the Coconut, '5 blogs that rocked my world in 2011' (number 3). Looking forward to see what you're up to in 2012!

Ooooooh, gorgeous Linda! Love the black and love the persimmon. And Mr. Lackadaisical...he's adorable too. :) Wow...a big project you are fixing to start. Impressed I am. :)

all your vibrant colors will sing with such a clean background!

Projects for a long weekend…
I'm quite pleased with the ifonrmation in this post.nice and useful!
thank you!
Love that pup! looks so comfy! We are still awaiting the arrival of our furniture, so I am on a twin bed with the vanilla wafers and my poor hubs is on the floor. I can't even imagine sharing a bed with your doggy.
I like the idea of Hacienda white and go back and forth myself whether I want a colorful carribean house or a white Hacienda. Luckily I have time to think about it, in our one bedroom apartment. :)
the wafers send a big Texas hello!
Linda - You were so lucky that your metal (though icky) windows have so much dimension. Now they look like steel! (My dream windows)
Mr. Fabulous - I have one in the long haired gold version happiest just to be in bed.
Cheers!

Yay for helping new babies into the world! Hope all went well.
Love the black windows and thoroughly admire your patience for doing that. Tedious work! LOVE the idea of a white house. Sigh.
Motivating the dog? If you figure out how, let me know. I have my own couch potato who is getting fatter by the day!!
love the windows, and I am so glad that the doggy helped :)

Hey, are you a midwife or a doula or just a helpful friend?
I say white, white and more white. As for the dog, well its a dogs life, so they say... Thank you so much for sharing. What a beautiful space you have created my very first visit here I will follow on my way out so I know my path back here. Perhaps you will find the time to come visit me soon and do the same. I look forward to engaging more throughout the year and beyond. Take care. Cheers SpecialK XoXo

What kind/type of product did you use for painting the window frames?
At least your Big Black Dog just lolls. My short fat one has half eaten my sofa. I've just got a quote for getting it reupholstered and replacement cushions, but I fear it may be an exercise in futility. Love the windows!
I LOVE the idea of the black windows with the white house! Perhaps you should hire someone to speed along the process :)
That is the cutest picture of your unmotivated friend I've ever seen! Keep on comin' with the pics from your projects...maybe I'll get off the sofa instead of looking like you pal!
Hugs~
Yes. To. Black. Windows. I'm in. And your couch looks like mine...big dog on top of designer pillows slobbering on white sofa....gotta love em.
I'm inspired by all your projects. If we were neighbors we'd be constantly running into each other. The paint store, Habitat which I often have great luck in and the nearest upholstery shop! Problem is I'm great at starting the projects but lazy when it comes to finishing up.
Kind of like your big guy.
Funny, Gracie is in that exact position as I type away here!
Those chairs would be fantastic covered in those blankets!
xo Lisa
I love the way your dog commandeers the sofa.
