We are lucky…those of us who look
into the large liquid
pool of a horses eye.
They show us their soul.
They have a grace and a depth unmatched.
And when we love
one of these quiet and noble steeds….
Well, that may be just enough.
Because when a horse whispers in your ear…
and breathes into your heart
you will never regret it.
And you somehow become bigger.
and better
at being human.
Thank you gallant Louie
as you so tenderly held my daughters heart in your own
and taught her love
and life.
You will be forever missed.

Oh Linda, I am so sorry to hear about Louie.
The love and friendship that you shared will always be cherished.
May his hoofbeats be forever in both your hearts.
That's so sweet but so very sad......
Tania xx
It is so sad. He was young and strong and FULL of sweet spirit. He had a fairly simple surgery...but did not survive the recovery.
I am so sorry, my friend....
A beautiful tribute to a beautiful horse Linda ..... Holding you and Olivia in my heart xxx
I am so very sorry. What beautiful words. Loving animals is wonderful and it is so hard to lose them. They always go to soon. I truly believe there is a special place for them in heaven hopefully next to their humans they left behind on earth.
These are truly impressive ideas in regarding blogging.
You have touched some pleasant things here. Any way keep up wrinting.

I can say that I have always wanted horses in my life..my parents always said no.I had make believe horses when I was young and was planning to have them when my children were grown. After reading this post and seeing these BEAUTIFUL images... I understand why my desire was so strong. My heart is sad for you and your daughter.
What a beautiful bay. My condolences to your and your daughter. I lost my first horse, Partner, when I was 14. I will never forget the sweet smell of his nose and his kind face. I learned a lot from that guy. I hope your daughter plans to continue riding.
oh no. Did he colic? I so love your horse posts. My 21 year-old is an eventer too(Ocala, FL and Middleburg, VA). I feel so bad for you and your daughter. Horses are family.
My deepest condolences. The souls of animals have the ability to touch us so profoundly. From one animal lover to another, I hope you find comfort and strength in the beautiful memories.
Warmly,
Laurelle
