Finding fall in the subtropics….and a pumpkin recipe…

It is always a different kind of fall
that we celebrate here in the subtropics

Our lemons are fruiting
variegated lemon…pink inside!
We feel the change in the climate…subtlety. We see the change in colors…Beautifully.

It rolls in much slower, more casually.
Daring you to notice.

Paths throughout our jungle of a yard
I love finding some of these vestiges of seasonal changes and bringing them in the house
with some small pumpkin gourds in an old French baguette mold

Then using some vegetables of the season…creating a touch of fall for dinner

I used some canned pumpkin pasta sauce….but you could make your own

Your baguette mold centerpiece is nothing short of splendid!!! So much beauty...really appreciate seeing these hints of fall. My white bird-of-paradise is blooming. Is that a sign of fall in the subtropics?

Sure...you could say that (although they tend to bloom throughout the year :)

It is more the change of color...from the sun being lower....more golden. AND the hum of football on in our casa!

Welcome back to Florida, Becky!!

That's the most beautiful lemon I've ever seen!

And your lasagna is making me hungry. Great fall post.

Rick....even more amazing when you cut into it and it is as pink as pink lemonade, A yard fave....and a mothers day gift from ten years ago! The gift that keeps giving!

beautiful pictures! love the baguette with crotons and pumpkins! I'm doing the pale colors these days, so I'm enjoying "the lighter side of Fall" LOLOL....I have lemons ripening now, finally enough to make lemonade and such, its soooo cool! And tiny limes that have lots of juice. Finally the weather is cooling "down" into the 80's.... :D

Very pretty! It is hard to get into the fall mood with the temperature in the 80s. Here in Hawaii we try our best but with no leaves turning red on crisp autumn mornings, just green and humid tropical days, it definitely takes some imagination. And of course pumpkins. Lots and lots of pumpkins.

Zsuzsa....I hear ya!!! Hawaii is so beautiful though. ALL year long!

Those lemons are just about the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Would love to see the pink inside when they're ripe.

Awesome looking lasagna too!

That lasagne looks delicious, and I love the different spin using the pumpkin sauce.
I have never seen a lemon like that, I think I want one of those.
The table centerpiece is creative and oh sooooo cute.
