Yep, even better than living down the road...
she lives down the path.
You enter into an enclosed courtyard with a gated entrance(ooooh)
and a vine covered arbor...
...That opens to a winding path...
That unfolds to the little Casita...with a barrel tile roof
and working shutters...
When you enter the cottage, you step into a great room...strong Beams above.
A funky little fireplace in the corner...
One wall is all window/door...open to the palms and tropical fruit...
The tiny kitchen is on one side of this great room...open to living
Old european furniture is at home amongst the white walls and beams
....A small hallway leads to one of the two bedrooms...
Spanish Birth chairs are alwyas ready for a game of chess (talk about multi-tasking!)
...back outside Palm fronds cool ... Birds sing
Translation: Home sweet home. Perfect
...But...let me tell ya....
Said grandma can also make an amazing martini!

Linda, that was a great tour of your beautiful home!
Do you think Grandma B would like a roomate? I am a tidy person. OK maybe not but how about a visit for one of her special martinis and to enjoy the view?!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE... the little Casit, the path to grandma's house, and the birth chairs (I need to search for one of these). Everything is BEAUTIFUL!!
I really will have to put your town on my list of places to visit.
Thank you for sharing!
Linda have a golden day!
What a magical place to live! I love that she has a cottage right down the (tropical) path from you.
The cottage looks so comfortable and relaxing. All that white--and the beamed ceilings--speak to me. That's my kind of house.
Big thanks to Grandma B for inviting us in and letting us look around. I'm ready for that martini now! :-)
What a wonderful place to live, the pictures are just lovely, it sure looks big for a cottage and the furnishings make it all so wonderful, thanks for sharing with us.
I have an idea! We boot "Mom" out of there, and we all take turns stayin' over! Deal?! (Sorry, Linda's mom.)
Wow! What a hidden gem. I love the cottage, especially the winding path! Very cool. You are very lucky to have such a great property!
Please ask Grandma if she'd consider a week-long house swap :) That gorgeous little hideaway is a lovely escape from reality. Thank you so much for the post!
I love Grandma B's cottage! And that it has such a sweet little path...It really looks like something out of a magazine, for sure. Is Grandma B accepting roommates, by chance? :)

That is just the most charming casita. I've looked at it a hundred times and could look at it a hundred more.
We love the color of this little haven! The beams in the great room really keep that open-airy feel... is that a tropical breeze gently flowing through the window?? Might need to start up that way cool funky fireplace!
Thanks for sharing!

Go, Grandma! This casita is scrumptious, and I absolutely covet the garden. Thanks for letting us peak.
I love the little kitchen in this house. I'm blogging about our 36 square-foot kitchen, so my eyes tend to drift that way pretty fast. I was really surprised when you led us into the house--it was all so beautiful and really felt like a place where people could get comfortable. Thank you for showing it.
Katie
