I thought this TV stand was quite creative and inventive,
Cleverly re-purposed.
My husband calls it stupid.
Yep. That's what he said.
Something about picture perfomance and tilting...whaa wha wha wha

I found it on House Beautiful's website,
showcasing Newell Turner's re-do of a lovely Catskill farmhouse.
He has a great blog where he chronicles his farmhouse reno he calls Twighlight Field.
Check it out here.
I do like it better in the country house, though...
And here Danny Seo tries his talented hand at it...
I still like it. And while I love My husband and his amazing

Men and their TVs!
I love the idea of using an easel as a TV stand.

I think it's a fabulous idea!! Me...I would rather live without a TV...but my husband strongly disagrees!!
Yes...I hear ya Simple Daisy. I used to be there too. Sadly say used to.
Great idea! I think the easel TV stand would go well with Classic artwork on the walls behind it. Perfection.
That maybe the only way a TV can look good in a living space LOL, being an artist I am partial to it :)) tell you hubby sorry
hahaha to funny.......men have NO idea !!!
Cool idea! Tell your hubby the special remote lives in an old paint brush box :0
Ha! no they sure don't, do they. My hubby just called one of my projects stupid too, so don't feel bad. I just laugh and go on my merry way to the next one.
I think that's pretty cool myself!
OOoo Linda, I saw this last night and LOVED it. I think it's fabulous! If a TV has to be in the room, at least make it art!

Men & their TVs. They just can't live without them. You should see the huge one my husband has. Oh well. I always love your posts. I enjoy your blog so much that I left an award for you at my gloryfeathers blog.
Debbie
I'd rather not have a TV either, but I confess I know squat when it comes to home design... you have no idea how deficient I am in this area.
I like it too, Linda!
That is clever... I've got a couple of those TV stands! LOL
ENJOY your weekend!

Linda- must be these long Winter months, as I have noticed numerous comments on various blogs where women comment on their husbands not knowing "squat!" I do believe 'diddly squat' is the next step!
A big thanks for the link to Newell Turner's blog. For months every time I get a new issue I think I need to go look at this and then never do! Looks really interesting; wonder why no one commnents?
And to the issue at hand I think the easel is a very creative use for the TV although a bit precarious!
Ah those husbands - can't live with them & can't live without them - OMG did I just say that! I so love the easel TV stand idea, but I reckon our Insurance company would be receiving a call within the hour with a claim. I can see the TV flying thru' the air after being seriously knocked over by Mr. Clumsy - with his 6'5''/200lb. body of Adonis (not!!!!) he's a walking disaster area.
Millie ^_^
You have the most coolest house on the block. Let me borrow it for a few days:) I can really knock out a few books from there.
I was watching some video's of designers speaking in Architectural Digests website once and I think it was Alexa Hampton. She said, whenever my husband pipes up with an opinion when it comes to decorating I say "I'm sorry where have I seen your work?'. I mean when you are the designer and that's your area of expertise, husbands should just feel lucky (and I'm sure yours does) that they get to live in a lovely and well appointed home courtesy of you!!
I think it is tres clever!
Ooooooooooh, I saw a pic with that idea this week, too! P has an easel in the garage, so I was all afire, just to be shut down like you were..... sigh. Men.
Yes, perfect, I hate tv's, although I do watch them on occasion :) The new super flat ones are so much easier to 'fit' into the home landscape....
I'm going to pitch this idea!!
I love it! But can't the whole TV tilt over? Doesn't look "toddler safe" to me... Lol @ your husband, it certainly doesn't look stupid!
i love this idea too!!! what a great one!!!!!!!!!!!
This TV stand is a really great and stylish idea - your husband will get used to it! xv
Great re-purposing of the use of an easel. After all our TVs are most times the major artwork in the room and certainly the central focal point.
oh gosh my husband would just kill me if I did that with his tv...literally kill me...black gloves and all. it would be worth the risk though - looks fabulous :)
Linda, I like that idea, too -- clever!
Well...I won't be using the idea. Just loved the uniquness (guess I kinda hate TV's...and am always looking for something different.
As far as it falling over, it is a VERY sturdy easel. But I know you could also somehow secure it.
Seen any other cool ideas for TV's? (just to make my hubby nuts!! Hee)
I think it's a great idea, because it's so open and uncluttered. But I hope that expensive tv doesn't fall off the easel! :)
I think it's a neat mix of high-tech and low-tech. And very creative.
MEN!! What do they know anyway! I think the easel idea is great but , hey, what do I KNOW!! LOL!
Cute post, Linda!
The easel as a tv stand is very different but I kinda like it.
My eye went directly to the cool sofa and Brittania pillow!
hahahah i loved it too!! really cool & doesn't take itself seriously.
No it's fantastic idea if proportioned right....
There was a perfect example in the Feb issue of House Beautiful pg 73!
Linda- A very clever idea to use an easel for the TV.
Sorry, I'm with hubs.
(He may want to print this out and frame it.)
what a great idea, finally a tv worth looking at!
Well, I love, love, love it!
Hope you have a Merry Christmas:)
No shit. I like mine better than all these.
