I've been Fifi-fied!

Fifi Flowers...even her name is full of color and light and all things

French!

She asked me to do a guest post for

her month long Paris Feast!

Check her out here...
tomorrow, as a culmination of the month

she is having a giveaway!!

Run...don't walk

I unearthed my old journal and some pictures
(I lived on the above street...well not ON the street, but overlooking it)
when

I went to school in Paris for a few months

~OY~

I've got to say...I laughed out loud at myself and my writing...

Lighten up, man.

Everything was so philosophical, and dripping with

faux erudite commentary

Just OY.

Go visit Fifi to see some more of my pics from 26 years ago.
Check out all of her Parisian Posts...

I'm here visiting from Fifi Flowers. I saw you'd lived in Paris and now live in Florida. I grew up on the Fla Gulf Coast and was swept away by a military man years ago. We are finally moving back to Florida this summer as he retires - yay! We were stationed in Paris a couple of years ago. Quelle expérience!

Awww Thanks you guys!

I am not lovin' a post about my early days...Oh but the stories...

The other thing I found in my journal were sugar cube wrappers (??) Lots and lots of them.

Remember sugar cubes? How quaint.

I love Fifi's and to remind myself of France I keep La Perruche sugar cubes in the pantry and Savon de Marseille in the bathroom

That is truly amazing that you were in school in Paris!

I dream of Paris, and took French in high school and enough to jump ahead some in the college French level.

Paris is on the list!

It's fabulous that you have your journals, too!

There is an American writer's conference in Paris, in the summer--- WICE I think is the acronym... maybe we'll meet up there one summer :)

OHH MY! I wanna live in Paris for a few months! :( Have you ever thought of going back? If you do - I'm sure your furniture will be too big for the little flats there, so why don't I just take that lamp, table, and chair now so that you don't have to try to find a place for it on short notice! ;)

Oh, wow - I'm so jealous! Beautiful!

I know what you mean about reading stuff from our younger years - my journals make me laugh so much. :)

Have a great weekend~

Loved your post on Fifi's blog! I, too, claim the Hemingway quote and am so thankful that I lived in Paris when I was younger (though I was a bit too young (15) to have the independent experience you did; it was still a wonderful experience living with a French family for a summer).
