actually Florida has more jewels than I ever thought imaginable…
Landlocked in the city of Lake Wales…
and claiming the the title of the singing tower Gardens…
Bok Tower Gardens is a veritable paradise of acres and acres of
tropical
flora and fauna.
Mixed with the sweet sounds of a bell Carillion playing throughout the day.
Built in the 1920’s by the once editor of Ladies Home Journal
It is now open to the public...
along with a beautiful span/med homestead of the era
stunning in it’s natural beauty…and Florida vibe

I had forgotten how lovely this place is...It's definitely on my list to revist, thanks to your reminder. I pass by frequently on my way to Vero. Love that photo of the BIG BLACK DOG! This, too, reminds me of our dog and bird story...when Bogle ATE our Thanksgiving turkey. :-(

Have very fond memories visiting Bok Gardens with my grandmother and parents when I was a child. Wish I could go back.

That estate is definitely breathtaking. I do love the lush gardens and the tilework on the steps. I so long to visit Florida and check out all of those architectural delights like the one you have shown us today.
I love Bok Tower. It has been a couple years since I have visited. Thanks for reminding me how beautiful it is.

Linda, you make me miss florida. I hve been to that tower, and there is a place you can fly into for lunch Chez something. They used to make soups. Do you know what I am talking about? I went there it has hotel rooms very Quaint.

we know bok tower well. we motorcycle there at least once a year, and always spread a blanket out with picnic when we go. it is a lovely place. i learned of "kangaroo ferns" by wandering the grounds, and am garden inspired as well. the old estate is fun to tour too. very old florida!

That photo of the pebbles in cement reminded me of the spa we went to in China. They had a foot path made in exactly the same path which was meant to give you a massage as you walked on it......PAINFUL!
