There is a hidden jewel in the deep of Florida
actually Florida has more jewels than I ever thought imaginable…
Landlocked in the city of Lake Wales…
and claiming the the title of the singing tower Gardens…
Bok Tower Gardens is a veritable paradise of acres and acres of
tropical
flora and fauna.
Mixed with the sweet sounds of a bell Carillion playing throughout the day.
Built in the 1920’s by the once editor of Ladies Home Journal
It is now open to the public...
along with a beautiful span/med homestead of the era
stunning in it’s natural beauty…and Florida vibe
old florida vibe…
I am hoping to use several of the ideas
in our casa and casita.
yes I am!
If you live in Florida…or visit…make the time
to experience Bok Tower Gardens
You will not be sorry.
True inspiration at every turn.
Anyone know where I can get a pair of
lovely swans?
Uhh…
Nevermind on that last thought.

I had forgotten how lovely this place is...It's definitely on my list to revist, thanks to your reminder. I pass by frequently on my way to Vero. Love that photo of the BIG BLACK DOG! This, too, reminds me of our dog and bird story...when Bogle ATE our Thanksgiving turkey. :-(

That estate is definitely breathtaking. I do love the lush gardens and the tilework on the steps. I so long to visit Florida and check out all of those architectural delights like the one you have shown us today.

Holy Guacamole, why don't they sell that at Home Depot Garden Center?! We may have to make a roadtrip there, if I can convince the hubs ;)

we know bok tower well. we motorcycle there at least once a year, and always spread a blanket out with picnic when we go. it is a lovely place. i learned of "kangaroo ferns" by wandering the grounds, and am garden inspired as well. the old estate is fun to tour too. very old florida!

Thanks for stopping by the other day. Life and my blog seemed to head downhill collecting more dust than I wanted. I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging regularly.
Wishing you and your family the very best now and always.

I love your blog! I used to live in Florida & miss it tremendously. I learned about the Singing Tower Gardens as a child, but never went. Thanks for the beautiful photo tour. Have you ever been to the Button House in Ft. Lauderdale? An oasis in the midst of madness.
Smiles, Debbie

My gosh that is beautiful. And LOL on the last comment and pics...hehehehe.
What a beautiful place!
That photo of the pebbles in cement reminded me of the spa we went to in China. They had a foot path made in exactly the same path which was meant to give you a massage as you walked on it......PAINFUL!
Linda,
This place is just incredible! Like another world somewhere. And that stone pattern picture had me really dizzy. Please tell me that someone else said that it moves when you scroll down. I have not checked the 35 previous comments.
Always fun to visit here...it's always an adventure!

This place looks like Spain...jewel indeed...
complete with heart shaped swans

I am beyond behind on reading you, but had to say how your "Secret Florida" posts are among my favorites. Right after the ones of YOUR home and garden....
