It's an amazing tropical paradise that surrounds you! Hope not too many mosquitoes.

Of course we're jealous of your beautiful tropical climate, and your amazing photos (nice.)
I love that lily pic . . . and that wonderful green gate.

Here's hoping hurricane Irene doesn't get too close.

I know. I know. I long for your warm climate and beautiful tropical flowers. And you long for our six months of winter.

The grass is always greener.

Umph Rick! Irene needs to go play out in the ocean. And Maya, the mosquitoes are BEASTS this year! I dunno why?!

Yep steve...the grass IS always greener...'cept when it is covered with feet of gray dirty Feb snow. ;)

Chica...Thanks to you!

And Anon Gale...not telling...yet.

aaaacccckkkk...when it pours?? We just passed our 50th day in a row with triple digit temps....106,114,107 and so forth and so on....Our grass is orange...not from fall approaching but from being dead.
Your plants are gorgeous.....sigh...and oh so green!!

Oh I miss the monsoons we'd get in New Orleans...here in NC it's been dry as a bone and my plants are shriveling up.

How very beautiful! Your gardens are truly a paradise...an oasis.
I love your bromeliad and orchid sharing the tree with the "lizard".

Our bromeliads bloomed last week...and the resident lizards were having so much fun running in and out of the blooms.
Jane (artfully graced)

ps praying that Irene doesn't drop too much rain on you.

You're not in Austin, Texas, that's for sure!! Just Gorgeous!!! I spy a little staghorn fern too! What a green thumb you have! Do you worry a lot about snakes? I am constantly worrying about them. Our backyard backs onto a green belt.

Looks so lush and fresh, my garden has copped a thrashing from the notorious westerlies that come this time every year.

Machete???? What the heck are you talking about? It's all so lush and gorgeous! My garden is struggling just to breathe out here in sunny DRY California... lovely but NOT lush. And LOVE that Crinum Lily Flower....looks like it might smell like a plumeria : )

Could there be anything more magical than having to duck under that gorgeous vine into that enticing gate!!!

ohhh, your tree climbing bromeliad is very healthy. we have been parched until todays huge storm.

i was in my leaking miata when that one broke loose! yes, when it rains, it pours..inside miatas :)

Linda@ Lime in the Coconut said...

Oh JMAC and Shush and anon Susan. I truly feel for you. We were there just a month ago...parched everything dried and dying. But whooosh...it began flooding miatas!

Hope some comes your way.

Where you in Austin? If so I would have loved to have met you in person!! If you are ever here please let me know! I have some great places to show you too and one of Joanie's favorite antique shops is here!

Linda@ Lime in the Coconut said...

No...Anon Susan...I didn't mean we were in Austin, But in that "place" of dead and drying (our climate was like yours is now) Hoping yours changes soon, too!

Would love to visit Austin FWIW!

Gorgeous photos. I have many similar plants in my garden here in Brisbane, although most are still young as much of the garden is new. It is still winter and dry here at the moment. Roll on summer, all that wonderful rain, and tropical growth spurts!

I'd love to come help you tame that gorgeous garden! I over insecticided mine this year...so sad..burned all my perennials... have to put them "to bed" for the fall and hope for the best next spring...

Happy Weekend Linda!

Oh my...it's all so lovely!!!! I will really appreciate your photos in January when there isn't a single piece of greenery to be found anywhere in Indiana:)

MissBliss said...

It's gorgeous....

and we have a machete on our kitchen counter right now in South Beach.

Really. When a neighbor moved back to NY, we inherited it, and when our tropical growth is out of control-- we have the tool. :)

BTW, tried your citrus salt trick last night, with a lemon, and gotta say it was fun... made the task, well, less task-like!
kinda therapeutic!

Are you serious? You actually have an orchid growing on your tree??? My mom would faint if she could do that. And the only thing I see strange in that photo (other than the orchid!!) is what appears to be a very LARGE lizard on the right side of the photo? Or are my eyes playing tricks on me? It all looks so beautiful and lush. I think you need to open up your yard and charge admission; it's better than most botanical gardens I've been to!

lovely images while I'm awaiting my plane during a stop-over in San Jose! Thanks Linda!

Well that's definitely a huge silver lining!
Here's to a beautiful Autumn September (or at least a little cooler!)
