Balm for the soul...

The texture and soul of old artifacts has always been intriguing to me.
I found a great old indonesian carving this weekend.
He was a "fire sale" and I brought him home for
a mere 20 bucks. I haven't found a place for him...but I will.

yes he is odd, and yes... he is tall (3 feet)...and not everyone's gig.

But he will fit in quite beautifully in our

eclectic abode. I am sure

I love the pics below...

Balm for the soul.
Please click on the pic to get an even better sense.

These images all come from the captivating and eclectic portfolio of Bobby McAlpine.

A talented architect/designer.

timeless.

I love your Fire Sale Man!

That photo of the "antique Asian angel" on the wall of the living room. I am betting she is Filipino. I have a similar, but much smaller, carved mermaid on the wall by my front door...she is Filipino and looks like she could be cousins with the angel. I got mine at the Santa Fe Flea Market from two women who run an import business with artisans in the Philippines.

Cool, cool stuff, Linda! Gosh, those seahorses are awesome, too...

The porch looks so invitingly good with its nice view and design arrangement. And your find, he'll sure be a conversation piece in your beautiful home.

Beautiful!

I snagged a huge seahorse a few weeks ago on clearance...I should take a pic and post it. Not nearly as gorgeous as those. Not even close.

Thanks for sharing these inspiration filled pics!
