Furniture stripped down to the most basic. Raw eucalyptus wood sofa…Bamboo blinds…a whale bone as art…
The kitchen …so fundamental that even the propane tanks
fit in.
Cement counters showing their use
not shy.
The pot rack with rope.
why not?
One of two perfunctory bedrooms
No frills.
…But the marine blue cotton and wet sand colored walls
mirror the view…just steps away.
Solitaire and a thermos of coffee.
Life is good.
Contemplate the simplicity.
yes.

What a fabulous place! It's simple and relaxed, letting the view take center stage.

I'll take the solitaire and thermos of coffee please!!
Yes, please.
Love those cement counter tops! They are what I have wanted for a long time, but they are not cheap. I thought about trying it myself, but I have a feeling I'd have a mountain and valley sculpture when I finished. I love the simplicity of this place - peaceful and calming.
I love simplicity! If I had that view every morning, could ask for nothing more! Right now I'll have to be content inland. Love it! Luanne
I love this. What is the main focal point is the nature this house is surrounded by. I love that the rest is soft spoken, weathered, raw. Lovely.
Love this, the raw bleached old wood, the rope cooking rack, the blue....
AAAhhhh...

I love the whale bone. That's my kind of decorative accessory!
I'm a big fan of simplicity..., the whale bone on the coffee table, I'm not so sure.

I discovered your wonderful Blog a couple of months ago.
Every visit is such a Treasure!!
Yes Please, How can I get one! Beautiful!
Love it~
I have always wanted cement countertops. I think they are simple and yet a little on the modern side!
I could love there forever!
i love that wall color, the white-washed wood; so pretty and simple.
and the propane tanks....a familiar sight indeed! i wish i could hide our 100 lb bright blue tank just outside our front door. i like how these homeowners have stored theirs- although not hidden, somehow it works ok with the decor.
Wow! I'm in awe. This was sooo pleasing. But, I am learning that there is something MOST soothing about pure simplicity in decor and in our lives.
LOVE this post!!!!
LOVE it! It is perfect in it's simplicity. Thanks for sharing.
These people were smart. They created a getaway place to get away too and enjoy, not a getaway place where one would be constantly cleaning & maintaining it. That's the secret of divine second home living,--ease.
3 words .... MY DREAM HOUSE .
proof in the pudding that simple does promote a peaceful state of mind..there is no agenda here other
than relax. i love how the color of ocean pops up subtly..
alot of good ideas here..
wow, that really does make you contemplate simplicity doesn't it? in reality, not much is needed is it?!
then why do I have all this stuff?!!!
Oh my. Wouldn't it be completely freeing to be that essential! **big sigh**
Life IS good. Thank you so much Linda.
Sue
I have too much "stuff". This simplicity is a goal worth shooting for. Thanks for reminding us! So serene...Sigh!
Oh to be there!
I bet I would write a best selling novel...
or attain a deeper insight into meaning and spirtuality....
reinvent my life, focusing on the basic essence and truly beautiful (simplistic) things....
or, at the very least, I would sleep
one
whole
night
without interruption.
siggghh..........
yeah so when can we go? I love your style. the only thing missing was a picture of the dreamboat guy that should be hanging out in a place like that cooking great steaks, in shorts.
I'm there right now. Or I will be . . . in a week . . .
WOW! This place is ultra-cool. Can I be your houseboy?
Rupert
You're such a tease...
you know how to pick 'em...it just melts into its surroundings!
Your blog reminds me of those old, "Calgon, take me away" commercials. This is one of your posts that I just want to climb right in to! Absolutely heavenly. How someone made pots hanging from a rope shelf and exposed propane tanks under concrete counters look elegant is beyond me...
Bravo, Linda!
I think I would need is a pillow and that view!
Wow I love that place! So great the last photo as well!!
I LOVE IT!! This would be so wonderful. It is so simple yet seems so modern which is usually not my thing. I would move in ASAP!
Sign me up!!
What a grand idea to put the dish rack on the wall like that!! XoxoX <3Üdo
Beautiful!! I'm dying for cement countertops. I want them so bad.
ok that's prefect for a beach vacation.
I love this....can we go NOW? The decor is outstanding simplicity...perfection.
Blessings...
where do you find these places? I'm not sure I could strip down to that much simplicity.....I'm a little bit of a Diva :)
super funky.
i love it.
xx
OK....I am saving this as my beach house inspiration when we get to build one (still in my dreams, but you just never know!!)
Thanks for the photos Linda!!
With a view like that, what else would one need???
Brenda
Oh my Lord ... I so want to go there!
This is the perfect place where I want to have my vacation. It looks very peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful!!!
"Solitaire and a thermos of coffee."
-> This is "mate" (chimarrão), typical drink of the southern plains.
I loved your blog! Congratulations!
I took some photos for Roccana!
