Beachcombing…

Shelling Beaches….the West coast of this fine state is known for some of the best…

A shellers mecca.

Walking the beach…and stooping down to search for one of these mobile homes of the sea

is engaging in an ancient... noble pursuit.

they are amazing and perfect these little vessels of the sea.

At our beaches listen to the ownership in that sentence…sheesh.

we certainly can find gifts from the sea

but not the bounty of shells over on the west coast.

The other day I opened the door to a beautifully simply wrapped package

shells 001

tied in twine and topped with the smallest most darling

little mobile home of the sea

shells 002

Inside was a beautifully crafted mirror

with two little hooks for keys and such

shells 007

It came from fellow blogger Cheryl….and was just what our keys needed

shells 010

Perfect.

Thank you Cheryl!

Beautiful! I am so envious. I will pay you large sums of money to send me shells! I could send you scorpions in exchange. No deal? How about cactus needles???

I love that little mirror..now I must go and have a peek. You know what they say in Florida: "you can never be too rich or have too many shells"

You're so lucky to live in the West Coast. Miami's beaches barely have any shells. Love the mirror!

Are you talking Captiva Island? I went there years ago and went on a shelling boat trip...it was great fun. I adore the west coast of FL!

Hi! Lovely post.
The first picture amazed me, I keep going back to it again and again, I didn't know there could be shells found lying in such abundance like that!

What is it in us that makes us such treasure seekers? The mirror is beautiful!

How sweet - love it! And love the little "mobile home".
(P.S. You were right - the photos of "our" beach were taken in the Gulf.) ;)

Love your post! You are talking my language... At times, my back seems permanently stooped from doing the "Sanibel shuffle".

Love the mirror and wrapping. What a marvelous idea!

How sweet - really pretty too! I tried to make one of these once - It did not turn out so good. Now it resides in the garage with a few shells dangling from strands of hot glue.

Oooo beachcombing - yum. We don't have very good shells, so I'll just ooo and ahhh over yours.
The mirror is great, and I love the sign above it!

Charming... I was looking at Cheryl's blog & shop the other day, thinking about how balanced & pretty her creations are. More than just slapping shells on, she really thinks it through.

Texas beaches, unfortunately, do not yield many great shells... doesn't stop us from looking.
