I’ve mentioned before that we live in a small {ish} town…really just a bit more than a spit of land
fringed in blue
sometimes turquoise blue...sometimes gray blue...
amazing
how it seemingly changes at our whim...with our moods.
But I am continually amazed by the beauty, creativity
and benevolence of this community on the Atlantic.
Two beautiful furniture and home accessory shops in town
display that beauty and benevolence.
Both of them give back to our community….in so many many ways.

no fair...I live too far away...so much fun to look at that great stuff....!
Both shops are wonderful! I would be there all the time! Love the glass floats all lined up on the credenza! How does she keep them from rolling off?
You have such an eye with the camera. You are really one talented lady! Your blog is the first thing I look at in the morning even before Drudgereport!

ooohhhh.......thanks for this! next time i visit my mom-in-law in vero i will definately check these out! i'm intrigued by jellyfish too. for their beauty and NOT their sting...ouch.
Oh neat, Linda! My parents are in Ft. Myers but we occasionally venture to the "other" coast, looks like fabulous shopping!
What a great little shop!!! Too bad I live too far away to visit:)
Delightful! OMGoodness, the view of your little patch of earth is swoonalicious!!! Awe-inspiring!
**sigh** Deb
I would be at both all the time! I am amazed at all the beautiful color down there - it's like NE and FL are worlds apart. Maybe if I bought a few things it would make my dream of coastal living come true! :)

I love it! Such amazing stores.
How beautiful! I was a couple of the paintings and those totes, and the dog bones.....
Were you trying to be cruel by including TWO photos of all those green glass fishing floats??? Ack! So many things in that store to buy, so little time or space to put them... Both shops look fantastic! I wish we had some shops like that where I live.
I have to visit Vero Beach!! I'm still looking for that "perfect" sweet coastal town in a warmer climate!
lots of fun pieces! love the glass floats filling the side table w/ ocean painting behind
Definite Wow!! I would be meandering through these shops all the time for inspiration!!

I would love to visit both shops. They look wonderful! I loved that cabinet full of treasures in M Maison and of course the wine stave chandelier in the second store. (I have the same one!) Thanks for sharing. It looks like you live in paradise!
Oh Linda, I love virtual shopping!! So much eye candy. I saw so many items in the second shop that if money were no object I could have brought home. That is what I love about virtual shopping money is NO object, Fun post, thanks for all the eye candy, Kathysue
Both of these shops in a small town?! How wonderful, I could probably spend hours between the two. Enjoy! Janell
That was an amazing shopping experience! Now, I only have to get myself in Florida to pick up some of the great stuffs I spied in the pictures;)
Ok. Here's the game plan: shop all days in all these fabulous stores until we can barely walk, drag ourselves down to the water's edge with a pticher of mojitos until the sun sets....then beg someone to carry us back to one of those fabulous resorts you posted on!!!
Am I here on Earth? Or in shopping Heaven? I think Heaven! I fell in love with so many of the photos I stopped keeping track! The next time my feet hit Florida soil/sand I am heading for your part of the State - one can only do Orlando so many times.
Love all the things, specially the bags & cushions.
Check my blog to see the deco of my wedding day.
Hugs!
Well that was fun! Thanks! ;)
Fantastic shopping.
Wish I could stroll through the shops. Nice sunny days just shopping. Saw a lot of things I could buy. Thanks for this post. It is a long post and I know you worked hard.. yvonne
Wow! Just discovered your blog - I want to come to Vero Beach!!! Following you now
Oh yeah! Why don't they have shops like that in Norway??
Hi Linda,
Oh boy, I need a gulf break. We've had quite a cold winter in central Colorado. Your first ocean blue images make me a little impatient for what's to come. We'll be heading to Galveston soon. On behalf of all small shop owners, thank you for plugging local!! cheers, -susan
WoW,WOW,WOW!!! One of my dreams in life is to start my own shop in Africa, and when I see these images I just want to realize this Dream even more! I also don't know about you ,but need at least a DAY to just wander around these shops, and if I'm feeling rich that day,BLOW SERIOUS CASH MAN!!
Hold on, I'll just grab my credit card and head to the airport - should be there soon. Leigh
Those are great stores. Wow what a smorgasboard of treasures. I loved that orange bolster pillow. That would have been sold on the spot:)
Those shops are amazing ... refreshing and cozy at the same time. Were those colorful robes near the bottom?!
The water is incredible!!! I want to dive in RIGHT NOW!!!
I could spend a whole day in these shops...so much to see! I really need to visit your part of the world someday! Tracey xx
Thanks for taking us shopping in your town today. There is nothing I like more than to shop oceanside in my flip flops. It didn't cost me a dime either.
I found M Maison on my last visit to VB...but alas, it was closed. Now I definitely need to return. Decorative Arts looks great, too.
Thanks for the enticement...
Jane (artfully graced)
What lovely shops! I especially loved the pictures of the suzani bolster (had never heard that word suzani before I discovered you and Joni) and those precious dog bones! And the aerial photo at the beginning - wow!
I spy lots of faux!! Faux bamboo is my absolute fave of the moment. What a dreamy shop... :)

What a great shop! I'll be on the next flight, lol.
Loving both of those shops, and those lamps and artwork make me want to take a little trip to Vero Beach-which I actually visited many years ago with a boyfriend-great town, awesome pics!
A classic Ms Linda post, where concern about our communities mixes with total stop-I-can't-take-it-anymore eye candy!
>Little towns, big treasures
is so, so true.
Though my city has lots of independent shops, and I like to think the ideas about connectivity hold true for us as well.
Like many areas, we've lost a lot of small businesses due to the economy contracting optional spending...as your post proves, it's these owner-defined spots that create a sense of place for those visiting and living somewhere.
wow i have been coming back to this post for virtual shopping since yesterday. so many goodies, I feel like a dog with its head popped outside the window, so many goodies to sniff though. I bet they were happy to have you come by and profile their shop. I think shopping in Vero is a must for me now. have a great weekend. oh and I think I spotted some spiny lobsters!
I'm thinking it's a good thing I don't live there. There was a long list of things I would want to snath up!! Thanks for the tour!
Melissa
ummm yum yum, beauty everywhere. OK lets go shoppin and have a couple treat too.

Those shops sucked me right in. Can I come shop with you? Sounds like a picture perfect place you live in.
Yowzer!!! They've got the good goods! thanks for taking me shopping, Linda! that was really fun!
Linda, how 'bout you take a little trip to the gulf coast and give me a consultation on re-doing my living room a bit. It needs some LIFE. ?? :) xoxoxo
I needed this walk in your warm lovely world!!
x..x
What a fabulous shopping tour...I will shop with you anytime. And did you say I could even wear my flip flops? all the better!
~jermaine~

OMG! Would you PLEASE adopt me?
What fantastic photographs! They will leave me dreaming for days and days!
Great blog!
There is a picture I saw that I want. It looks like a painting of a Jelly Fish. I love the white on the dark blue.
Lucky me, I not only live in Vero Beach, I work at M maison! Mary has a wonderful eye! We have lots of vintage items like linen towels, scrubbed pine tables. The shop has an eclectic mix of candles, furniture and gifts. Check us out on the web or plan a trip to visit!! You won't be disapointed!!!!!!!!!!!!
These stores were so beautiful! Amazing stuff!
Oh Linda...how we'd love to come down and shop - thanks for the happy day of window shoppng - it was quite lovely!!
So many beautiful things to choose from! I love the pillows...and bags...and then I see the colorful clothing and swoon! My hubby grew up on Old Dixie Hwy...but not exactly there! heehee! ♥
Just perfect!
To live in a smallish town AND have all that at your fingertips is...just perfect!
xoxo Lisa
Thanks for the colorful little tour for my senses! I love that jellyfish print!
I know I'm late to the party on this one, Linda, but those are great stores! It's interesting to see the difference in inventory between the south and up here in NY....I love all the seashell/ocean stuff down there.
