maybe too much art.
but…can one have too much art?
and am trying to place it in the newly painted and happy Living room
It’s just that I don’t know what to use…and not to use
So... up went the gallery shelves
just easier for me than a gallery wall…cause it will change. a lot.
Then I found this great brass wall light at
Habitat Homestore
Missing a little knob
So I got online to Neeson…the manf.
and looked this baby up…in hopes of finding a knob
what I did find is that it sells for $900 clams!
It’s all brass…heavy.
I paid 10. Say it with me
Yippppeeee!
This door/art will find a new home in the room maybe on the wall…who knows
It was done by the daughter of a friend
“adore” series.
and it does not look grubby in real life…trust.
I also have a HUGE B&W/sepia horse photo that is being framed
it will go over the little desk and replace what is currently there
I think.
The other side of the room is looking like a gallery
with the work of Ginny Piech Street …quite luminous!
Embrace art….better yet
hang it...give it a real home!
Now back to the hundreds I have laying around waiting for a home.

This all looks so good! And that lamp will mix right in.
The ledges are very clever solutions indeed. Your walls look magnifique! I was wondering, how did you manage the lighting part?
I absolutely love how you've displayed your art!!! I too have LOTS of art - so much that there are many pieces just propped up against the wall. Your display gives me some ideas though as to how to get them up and hanging!
Happy summer to you!

I <3 art work too!!
Great inspiration! I have a lot of art and "stuff" and have been wondering what to do because we have so many windows and so little wall space. This kind of shelving might be the perfect answer!
What an interesting collection of wonderful art. I'm a big fan of local artists, and I do some of my own work as well. I think I'd love to spend some time with your collection. I'm glad that you have it out where it can be enjoyed every day.
linda, ah, i see black window frames. they look GOOD!
i love the art shelves. what a flexible excellent idea.
i have at least two dozen wonderful paintings and pictures to hang here at # 9. you've gone and inspired me again.

You can NEVER have too much art. I adore what you've done with it, too!
Linda, I love your photos and your blog. It's so uplifting with all the beautiful color. You are a master in the use of color to create a mood. And thank you thank you for bringing some of your magic over to Style Key West while I was away. I adore the beach scene. The bright crotons bunched together is pretty darn special too.
Again, many thanks,
Jo
yippie for you!..I have actually never seen those gallery ledges but I love them...going to use that idea in "the house"...
Yippee! But $900? I really like the look of Ginny Piech Street. We have art everywhere and I am not terribly fussy about whether it is an original, a print, a book poster or a cutout from a book or magazine. If I love to look at it it hangs on our walls.
Beautiful!! I wish I had that much art to show off. Love the idea of the shelves so you can move things around whenever the urge hits.
I love the ledges!! So gorgeous!!!

I love the way your home and your writing reflect each other, soothing and exuberant both at once :)
And I love your ledges! Sometimes I think picture ledges can look a little sterile, but yours are just perfect-- a great mix of three dimensional objects, paint, and black and whites. Congrats, it looks beautiful!
