looking for it’s home

Would you paint the credenza? Maybe white lacquer?

I know I’ve asked before

Don’t take heed of the stuff

thrown on top.

I’m lazy.

real.

The horses? A pic from Pioneer Woman…blown WAY up and Black and whited.

I can smell them.

in a good horsey way

white lacquer would be amazing ...even though I like it just the way it is too....I would probably be lazy and just leave it. The horses really do give off that stable smell....lovely....

I like the color of the wood best! But it's nice to have a variety of woods and painted pieces in a room. Love the beautiful painting! I am still keeping your son in my prayers. Take care! ♥

I like the contrast of the white walls and the dark credenza. If you paint the credenza, I think you'd need to paint the wall. Perhaps you could paint the credenza black or dk brown, or even just restain it in a very dark brown/black.

I rather like it as is...the horse photo is quite interesting. What are your floors?

Jane...floors are acid-stained cement. Worn, "patina'd"...bomb-proof!

I think it would look fantastic in white lacquer. Or even a fun color like green.

OK.. now I am going to the eye Doc,
I thought it was palm fronds.

Second look it is horses.

Looking good.
I like it the way it is.

Oh, I love those horses! And yes, I can almost smell them. There's no better smell than a horse barn, is there??

I would really have to see the rest of the room before I came down on either side of the painting issue. I think the piece would be lovely painted white though. But it depends on the rest of the room.

To be honest, I think you should keep it just as it is. The whole corner looks fab and I love the picture above it. Although if you really wanted a change it'd look super in white lacquer. Jane :)

White lacquer would be great too....it is a superb shape so it will look right wherever it ends up and whatever colour it stays....xv

The horse picture is fabulous--so horsey! Uh, whether to paint the credenza? Depends on the context of the rest of the room...I'd like to come right over and check it out...

I don't know I kind of like it as it is..... I will be interested to see what you decide & how it turns out!

I agree with Sally. White lacquer would be great if it was in another room. Here it wouldn't stand out against your wall color. I would refinish it and stain it a darker color. It's a great piece! My daughter is looking for something like this for her foyer.
Your photo is gorgeous! I thought it was palm fronds too. :D

I like the credenza as is, I wouldn't paint it. I think if it was painted it would take away from the nostalgic look of it.

The photo is great! I love real photos for art work on the walls.

I like it the way it is. The credenza has lots of character with the wood stain. Also, it works where you put it;)

WHOA! That horse photo is stunning! And it's funny, because before I even read what you wrote, I thought to myself, "Man, that looks like a photo the Pioneer Woman would take."

I'm still so sidetracked by the horses that I can't comment on anything else, except to say that I really like the look you've already got going on in there. I especially love that you said that the floors are stained concrete. After 1+ years spent tiling my floor, I'm hoping for nothing but stained concrete in our next house!!!

Except for the chip on the front, I kind of love it the way it is. However, if you want to freshen it up, its lines are so amazing, I'd look around and see what color would make a statement in the home, or pick up on some of the grainy grays of the photo above. Or an off white...hows that for a definitive opinion!! Ha...

Can you just stain that chip in front? It looks pretty fabulous as is! I love that picture blown up. You have to really look to figure out that it's horses...cool:)

Fabulous horse photo- yes, I can smell them; I love the smell of horses!

Since your walls are white, and the floor is concrete (love it) I really like the piece staying "wood"! Think it's a nice grounding element for the room.

What is the large dried XX on the top of the credenza? Love it!!

p.s. continued thoughts and prayers for your son....

I would try it where the black mirror is. More space and perspective to see the painting.
The house is fabulous!
