Morbidly lacking things to blog about…

Ooooh but I do need to tell you about a great book I just read…Funny and poignant,

literarily articulate and warmly down to earth.

Fellow blogger Liz Owen from Mabel’s house wrote her Memoir of learning to love what you have…

along the way seeking just a tad of revenge on her literary heroes…

If you own a house…have had projects implode before your very eyes…and share space with a fur friend…

bookblog

read it…you’ll love it

find it here.

I am also re-reading Anne Morrow Lindberg’s ‘A Gift From The Sea’

and, yes…I use a magnifying glass to read…sometimes

Don’t cha love this one?

How interesting. I'm also reading Anne Morrow Lindberg’s book. Reading slowly actually to savor it. It's fascinating how she talks about shells.

Thanks, I'll add it to my reading list. I recently read Moon Tiger by Penelope Lively and it was one of the better books I've read in a long while. Happy page turning!

Blog about all the different rooms that went before in this space...do you have photos of the metamorphasis(sp)?I would sit right down and begin going thru your great library. It is a very inviting room.
You have an amazing gift of design and style.
How is the kitchen doing? and the hood?
My favorite book gifts of the sea (written in 1955) it is still applies to our lives today.

PEACOCKS!!

Down a 2 mile coquina lane, searching for a historic home swallowed by woods in Volusia county...peacocks climbing on tree limbs surrounded me. Same blue as your new wall color, blk and white striped backs , strong jewel toned tail feathers. Alot of boldness and inspiration in one bird, made me think of you!!

And YOU KNOW I mean that in the best possible way ;))

I have very little in the way of inspiration to offer. But I made your chicken noodle soup over the weekend and it was AWESOME!! The husband DISLIKES chicken and HATES soup but he slurps that stuff down like there is no tomorrow! :)

I think any blogger can relate to your day. Loving that shell magnifying glass!

Love the cover, the title and the concept of My (Not So) Storybook Life! Thanks for the great suggestion. Will be adding it to my Christmas wishlist.

As for a lack of inspiration, we'd just be happy to hear more about where you live (both house and destination), and what inspires you, or even what you see every day. I'm sure the houses around La Hacienda are as beautiful as yours. What about a post on the gorgeous colours of the tropics? Don't forget readers on the other side of the world (such as England, Scandinavia and Australia) love the idea of a tropical life!

Look forward to reading more riveting blogs.

I love A Gift from the Sea...I've just read a couple of good ones, The Butterfly's Daughter, Cutting for Stone (fabulous!) Just added Maira Kalman and Michael Pollon's new one 'Food Rules, an eaters manual'...looks wonderful. So there's a couple to chew on!

Linda,
These sound like great books to put on my list. Love that magnifying glass, just bought one with a wood handle...so good there is beautiful help for the fine print challenged that's design friendly!
