Small town…simple market.
Fort Pierce has been holding an ever-growing Saturday market for the past 10 years.
Fresh tropical fruit
Live music
what else does a person need? really.
Amazing bread and pastries (thank you Mr. Bread!)
Cooling your heels at the waters edge.
Why not?
It’s hot!
Limes of course.
Coconuts cradling orchids
who knew?
Handmade soaps…
….And more
call them…they’ll give you a deal!
A growing town
And Po’ man’s plants...
our yard is full of his benevolent wonder.
Support your local folk…
They’ll love ya’ for it.
Peace.

Amen! I love our local farmers' markets. We go every Thursday and Sunday.
We have a French guy who makes the most amazing crepes (berries and nutella, shrimp tequila flambe, you name it!), but I would give just about ANYthing for one of those pecan sticky roll-looking thingies in that one photo of yours!
Such a super cute little town.
Ooh. Key Lime Pie!
Our city just started a farmer's market this year and it's wonderful. And within walking distance for us! The dogs love to go!
Oh Pam...Yes, and dogs are invited...even have a cooling station for them!
Berries and nutella Melissa? Sign me up...pronto!
Looks like so much fun! There is nothing better than going to a market for fresh fruit and vegetables and home made goodies! Thanks for this fun post and your sweet comment on the pups!
One of these days you're gonna accidentally show your own image in the reflection of something, and I'll be here to see it :) What do you look like? I want a face to put with your name.

EVERYTHING looks so good!! I love farmers markets. I recently did a post on one in Bend & Seattle when we were on vacation.
Warm Wishes,

I love your photos of the Farmer's Market. The location by the river is a perfect setting. We may just have to make a trip to visit soon...
My husband is from FP...and we used to sail the Indian River...The town certainly has changed!!! What your photos show is beautiful!

We don't have a farmers market..., so we did the next best thing and signed up for a weekly vegetable delivery from an organic local farmer. It's fun because each week it's a surprise -whatever is harvested. Not much salads though, apparently they need more sun than what we had up here in the North East.
Ohh, I loved touring your farmers market! And I absolutely luv those empty coconut shells thingy. Now I know what to do when I finish eating the delish coconut cream...^^
To visit a farmers market is always a wonderful fresh experience in comparison with the supermarket. As I life in the centre of Germany I love your farmers market located at the water edge...
It is all visually deliciously! What a view over the water.
How idyllic is that?? The orcids in the coconuts were souch a good idea! :)
Hi, just wanted to stop by to say how much I've enjoyed your posts. Thank you !
These photos are wonderful,Linda. Great marketplace.
Shop locally, a fantabulous idea! We are certainly reaping the benefits of local farmer's markets, at the moment, and just talked, yesterday, about how we are going to miss those real tomatoes, as summer winds down, to the inevitable end of growing season.
And, the other day, I took advantage of our locally owned furniture store...love that one!!:-)
the local market is a magical place where the soul is fullfilled with wonder, appreciation, and delightfull aroma's nothing can replace. i love going. i think its magic.

Hey Linda - what a fantastic farmer's market! We have one that has a bit of everything you have ~ on a smaller scale....except for that bread ~ wow....we are so drooling!
Looks just about perfect to me! Might have to try that orchid-in-the-coconut get up myself!
The market looks like so much fun! Oh my goodness, those pasteries. We're going to have to make a trip up there and check it out!
Yes, I love all our local little town farmer's market. They each have their own personality, and I'm so happy to see all the organic products that have increased even since last year. Though none quite as festive as this one-which looks like a blast! Love the music, and those pastries....yum!
The food. That would be the main thing, maybe the only thing, I miss about living in Florida!
Now that looks like a fun afternoon. I love farmer's markets. Great pics.
My mouth is watering over all that beautiful food. Love the orchids in the coconuts hanging! Looks like the best day ever.
Ain't life grand!! Summer farmers markets...local foods...I'd love to sample those local wares!!
thanks for the number on those beautiful soaps..may give them a call.
Gorgeous setting! I would think it would draw a good crowd! We have no shortage of Farmer's markets in Tallahassee-but my fave is the organic farmer's market that takes place around lake ella, near the black dog cafe (locally owned and eco friendly) & then one right here at work! How cool is that???
Yours though, those pictures-lovely yummy scrumptious fabulous. ♥
Ahhh - What a beautiful spot for a Farmer's Market.
I would love to go there.
Cheers Linda!

Those soaps look like a candy I used to eat as a kid...I think Brach's was the brand...it was the kind that was in a bin and you filled up your little sack...ahhh...those were the days!
;D
looks like fun!
i love the coconut "pots" for
orchids too..great idea
thanks for taking us along
what a fun place to spend the AM! I do love our farmers market out here. Love being out with the peeps. love the coconut pots, so tropical.
I simply could not agree more! I love the sense of community these markets create. It's like the good old days when everyone had front porches and you knew your neighbors first names. Good stuff.
Linda- Fun Fun Fun! Love Farmers Markets! What a beautiful locale for one! Great pics! Thanks for the visit!

Oh, that looks wonderful! I love the setting, too. Thanks for the tour!
fort pierce...i had no idea! i just went drove through there on sunday. i spent a weekend at fort pierce once, if only i'd known about this market..!
i wish we had something like this on my island...our version of a farmer's market consists of a local woman selling coconuts and papayas under a tree by the gas station!
beautiful photos.
What an inspiring post... key lime pie, orchids in coconuts, tropical fruit so ripe I could almost taste it.
Support the local folk and reduce your carbon footprint at the same time! Love this!
Whenever I come to your blog it's always like I'm in a tropical paradise! Thanks for the tour, I love the coconut hanging things!
I love it when bloggers take the time to put the word out about their favorite places. We really do need to support our locals.
What a wonderful post and a great blog you have. I am new and learning each day about great blogs.
You are now one of my favorites.
Come visit me.

I've been to Fort Pierce in the past and I love how charming this town is. I wish Miami was more like it. The farmers market in Lincoln Road doesn't cut it for me.
Wonderful! Reminds me of some of the European markets I loved so much.
Love all the organic and handmade items they offer.
Looks like a fun place to hang out and find some yummy things.
xoxo

I just can't get enough of local farmer's markets! I hope we can turn our retail into something like this....
Ohhh you make me wish I was a local! You are blessed to live in such a beautiful place. Im torn between the fruit and the pastries.
I think I will go hang out on the beach and think about it a bit more.
Wow! This is incredible! How I wish we have market like this here in my town, I’m so jealous. Just look at those yummy foods, very mouth watering and the flowers are looking lovely. This is one amazing market!
I'd love to come visit your farmers market!
I wonder if those coconut planters would work here? I really like the look of those, especially with the different heights...nice inspiration thanks, you know what I think they'd look great sort of tied onto our fence, mmm mmm
Sarah
You are so lucky to get to visit a market such as these; it’s clean and has lots of fresh and amazing stuff. Not all people can experience what you have in your place. Thanks for showing this to us, your readers.
I love our local farmers market, its always a fun time, and those fattening pastries, OH MY!!
yes!! please, everyone support your local farmers markets! we have a great market in downtown nashville with the capital hill for its backdrop, and another smaller, more quaint market in franklin, where i frequent, but...sadly, no ocean in sight. boo hoo.
Wow, I want to come visit! That looks amazing! Especially the pastries. :) And the hanging coconuts are awesome.
I love me a good Farmer's Market! Every weekend we HAVE to go. Great pictures!
We have a great market too, just not such a romantic setting as the one in your pics. I can feel that warm breeze and smell the salt. YUM!
