Ok
I am all about huge chunky marble on counters
I think of ice cream cones…and home made fudge. But that may just be me.
But.
this I don’t get…
Why would you make a cabinet look like drawers?
why not really have drawers?
can anyone enlighten me.
please?

That is curious, is it an island made from reclaimed materials, with this being what was possible?
Love the countertops! Janell
Wait, those aren't really drawers? What jerks! I feel like I always need another drawer.
I like the thickness of this counter! xo
I am with you on this one Linda, not sure what is the point except maybe continuity of design?!!! Love the marble top, the cupboards? Not so much, KS
Could it be that the drawers are actually on the other side of the counter? If that's the case - then its totally for aesthetic reasons. It looks better as your walk into the room, rather than seeing a flat panel. I don't really know just my guess.
'hugs from afar'
Yeah, that's weird. It looks broken. Love the thick slab counter top.

You know what I hate more than the fake drawer doors? That hideous faux worm hole thing they have going on with that wood. It doesn't even BEGIN to resemble real worm holes. I don't get THAT at. all. I must say that I ADORE marble countertops, and wish that I had some of my very own. :)
I'm feeling the urge for a Cold Stone Creamery treat!
It's to divert your eyes away from the fake worm holes.

i do it when ever i can.
drawers are so much more interesting than a plain cabinet door.
just think of all the cool knobs and handles you can you.
also it makes it feel like you are using a 'chest' instead of a kitchen cabinet.
it just gives you the ability to add cozy character to a room.
i am tired.....i don't know what i am saying anymore xxxx
That is really great question. I want to know why as well.
Haha! That's an odd one, isn't it? Only you would be able to uncover this!
Geez, that countertop ain't messing around! I have no clue why they'd make the cabinet look like drawers. I'm always sort of baffled when something is purposely made to look like something it isn't...
ha! that's a good one...go figure...
beats me......quite confusing though isn't it?
LOVE the counters! The cabinets...it'll will have to grow on me.
Jane (artfully graced)
Who cares about the wood...just look at that marble! squeeeeee! :)
I just went back for another look...those worm holes are (shudder) so faux-awful. It looks like someone drilled holes in them like Martha Stewart does a pumpkin. I think Sharon secretly likes them.
Hmmmm.not sure why they would do that! I would just rather have the drawers:)
Just to have something new or old or different. Your right drawers are great. What I don't get is drawers above the counter top. How the heck do you see into them?
That is a great question..lets ask the cabinet shop that did them...what issue?
Fake stuff leaves me cold!!! I am all about the real and imperfect....
The top photo is an all time favorite kitchen of mine.
I don't get it too ♥ ♥ ♥
Maybe they just salvaged it from a drawer and used it as cabinet door.
The cabinet doors will always look a little off with that design. I'm with you - they should have just put in drawers. The marble counter top is totally on the mark.
I'm stumped. I'm so easily confused, the last thing I would want or need is fake drawers. haha.
Happy weekend, Linda!

No idea. For balance, maybe....guess you'd need to see the whole space to make real sense of that decision.
Linda it is certainly not speaking to me!
The counter is gorgeous though!

Okay, Linda, I told Joanie you can have the 'lady'. Am I sweet or what??
Whaaa...? I would find that completely annoying! can you imagine having a party and the guests coming in the kitchen after a few margaritas looking for something? OK I am having some pretty visuals over here.
LOve the marble. My parents are remodeling as we speak and just did the marble counters. Gorgeous.
This would get me everytime...no matter how many times I tried to 'open' them!
x..x
Have no clue unless it's to keep some sort of symmetry in the kitchen. Love that sink though!
xx
love the first pic! :)

accessorize your outfit :)
drawers cost more in the construction process because they require more wood and materials...I'm assuming the more drawers it looks like you have in your kitchen the more your guests will think you spent $$...I dk just a hunch :)
