Like they tend to in Harbor Island Bahamas
Fans whiring lazily…inside and out
Screen doors even open to catch the ocean breeze…
I can hear the creak…and the slam...you?
Palm fronds and fruit off the tree as the only ornamentation…
Maybe a few found shells…a few inspiration pics tacked on a wall. effortlessley
Life is easy breezy here, people.
Yep…Embrace the heat.
See ya on the other side of the warm front.
stay cool.

Beautiful pictures. Where are all the people.......somewhere in the
A/C. (Kidding, couldn't resist)
Yeah, Debby....they may have succombed to heat stroke! Funny girl!
Fabulous photos...isnt' it amazing how crisp clean white with those pops of color, especially in the green of the palms and coconuts makes everything seem so cool, even here where we are in the upper 90's today.
Happy Weekend!

Ah, a breath of cool air...we could use it up here under the heat dome in the sea-less air of the midwestern plains...wish I were there where you are...
I think the universe is sending me a message! We spent a week on Harbour Island in December and I bought a lovely tee at the fabulous restaurant Sip Sip. I've been hoarding it but decided to wear it today for the first time...had it on about 10 minutes and then read your post. Ahhh what a beautiful place!
Yummy. I am packing up and moving there!

Love those porches! And the seashell display was pretty nice too.
Ahhhh....heading out to the lanai and pool, now. Fans are whirring...fountain is bubbling...palms are swaying...and the neighbor's parrots are squawking...Sounds like paradise. :-)
I needed this it is hot as Hades here...... This was a very cool post! Maryanne xo
Lovely! Sweltering down here in South Beach and Mr. Wonderful is taking the opportunity for the most extreme de-cluttter I've seen him undertake-- one benefit of this heat :)
That and my windowsill basil is going to be delicious pesto!

I would love to rent out a place like one of those in the Bahamas. I adore India Hicks and her homes.

gorgeous!!! i love those counter stools in the palm kitchen. just so you know coming here is my vacation to the tropics. makes me happy everytime:)
I would have no problem embracing the heat if I were in the Bahamas...instead I'm in middle Georgia and things are so pleasant!
Something about having a real beach right outside the door makes being hot bearable. Such a lovely place!
Sooo..is this where you are on vacay? Love the director chairs in the DR....the open doors, the crisp whites, etc etc. Enjoy!
So clean and contrast-y. I guess that makes for a cool feeling?

The porch. Ooohh, I love that porch. Everything looks so cool. I think I will go buy a dump truck of white spray paint and get started on my brown, dark, log house and brown, dark, porch.

Looking at those pictures, I can practically feel the breeze.
Have you seen the book "Porch" by Brian Vanden Brink? Lots of fabulous (and cooling) photos.
oh yeah baby, this is right where i want to be. 'specially after all month wrangling gkiddos.
These pictures are amazing, I like the birght and fresh feel of the space and Like the minimal use of colours and accesoories making it feel a lot more open and spacious. I also like the bright blue turquoise and the shells used as decorating.
Thnaks for sharing these!
I LOVE big porches! A great place to be whenever, wherever!
Stay cool, -s
oh thank you for this cool breezy reprieve...we have had the heat, but no ocean breezes.
love too the water paintings!
Gorgeous pics, as usual. But my favorite is the one with the type case hanging on the wall, full of sea shells! That's the perfect use for some of the extra cases I have around.
those white painted wood floors make me drool. i wish i had the nerve to paint mine.
hope you are surviving this summer!!!
Joni
