Map pins…

We have a large map in our family room.

Near the TV we have always had a map…or several…near the telly.

Helps you figure out the where of the nowcapiche?

anyway…

This map also documents our travels…with map pins get ‘em at an office supply store

Where we have lived, vacationed….and where we want to visit.

red is where we have been. Blue where we have lived

…and yellow where we want to visit

Yes Francesca find a wall! Doesn't have to be this big!

Oh Linda, I love!!! One day I just may need a wall map, for in my new life, "after diagnosis" my world has been enlarging; perhaps one day I shall even venture out of the desert. P.S. What mess??? **happy smiles** Deb

Love the wallmap and pins. What a great way to celebrate where you've been. I think they make great presents too.

Do you have cork behind the map? Are you putting the pins in the wall? I've been wanting to buy the pre-made travel maps showing where you've been but they are cheesy. :)

Sherri...No....the map is just stretched on a frame so we pop the pins right in. You could have a map adhered to that foam/posterboard stuff at a local framing shop...the pins would fit in there nicely...then you could frame it too!

Thanks all!

We do this too...but have not lived or traveled to nearly as many places.

Is Longmont marked with a yellow pin I wonder??

I always wanted to do that. I had friends that have done it and I think it's so cool. Great conversation starter.

I can't stop laughing about the sentence "ignore messy room"!! You will need to revisit the latest photo of my kitchen. Ha ha ha!!

I have always wanted to have a big map and do that EXACT same thing but have never gotten around to it. You have been some mighty fun places, my dear! :D

Fabulous idea! And dare i say.. educational? :) I don't want to suck the life out of the fun, or anything. :D I love maps. Antique ones. New ones, fantastical ones. The ones with little pics of sea monsters in the ocean.. When a map is featured on Antiques Roadshow, i become a little giddy.

I went to world market today and saw that they had a giant map of the world split up into 6 separate canvas', it was the cutest idea...and I was thinking I could replicate it cheaper than the $180 they were asking for, but I thought about putting colored pins for where I've been, I never thought about putting it for placed I want to go...I love that idea!!

I had the same at my wall in my Sydney-apartment. Maybe it´s time for a map at my wall in my swedish house too? It´s a fun and educational idea. Visitors always ask what it is.

We had a wall map when my kids were little too. Now that they're grown I see 2 of them have continued the fun. Looks like you've lived and been many places - fantastic!
