Not shy…
more like a pusher… it’s rising barometer
daring us to inhale it.
Smirking at times.
And yeah… we push back
in the beginning.
Because we think this may be the one that saunters in slowly…in our time. Not it’s.
This is the year we’ll get everything done so we can enjoy.
go ahead...laugh away.
But we can never push it back…It comes, and seeps in cracks…and warms everything
to hot. To scalding...even.
Old tired pools beckon…plead
…even beg.
Work never ends…it slows…
In the heat.
But never ends…
Tireless comrades remain faithful…
albeit hot under black fur.
even though they do have cute white sneakers.
but...Pleading all the same.
Then… evening rolls in
in pink and purple and Gray
cool colors
calming colors
healing colors
And we beckon another day.
gratefully.

Beautiful post! Glad I dropped in! I know you'll have a nice and peaceful evening.
Nancy
How beautiful! Such a soothing post.
So beautiful! It's the same here in Georgia! You dog reminds me of our very first, wonderful dog, who was part Great Dane and had the same coloring as yours - with a white tip on his tail! Hugs, Silke
I BEG you! can I come visit!!?!!! Beautiful post! Have a great week ahead Linda!
Aww Silke. He has a tip on his tail too...we call it his flashlight (why? I dunno.)
Ivy Lane...you might wanna wait till sweet fall comes a calling!
Thanks Nancy and Mel!
Okay. Forget garden envy. WHO IS RUNNING ON THE BEACH? You and daughter!?!? I just forgot EVERYTHING I was going to say about your delightful lime sunbrellas, the pool and patio area, the exquisite photography and your ingenious wording. Seriously. That's you??? Oh we are speaking of a deep deep green kinda envy! De-Lovely! **kisses** Deb
Aaaaah! Linda this post made me take a relaxing sigh. Thank you , we all need a deep breath and a sigh once in awhile, Kathysue
Wow that is so poetic!I just say it's hotter than stink out here! Sweat running in rivers inbetween my big bazookas. Yep 96 degrees and 97% humidity can make a pool jump up an shout! So did you go swimming?
love your dog--I know I have said it before but that big black dog is just one fine beastie.
Same here! HOT as H@LL! Geez, what would I give for a pool...you lucky dog! Have a great week and stay cool.
I'm off to Rosemary Beach this week for work, I'm sure it's hot there too.
Ahhhh the last few photos diminished the hot flash I was experiencing. Now in all kindness, these are the lovliest photos of your sweet ones at sunset. Oh how I miss living on the water.

Stunning colors!! I want some tropical summer too!!
Have a fabulous Monday!!

Silvia..
that pool looks divine! Is it yours????
Send some of that sunny weather our way, DC still can't decide whether it's winter or spring!
amen to that!
a/c went out in vehicle #1..whew,
the heat did indeed come with ego!
lovely shots on the beach!
I love the concept of summer weather having an ego ... it certainly does in Florida! Eight years in Orlando taught me that ~ I think I could have handled it better on a beach! Wonderful post .........
Very late afternoons and early evenings is truly my favorite time on the beach..., the colors captured here are simply amazing!!!!
My kind of weather, my kind of place, my kind of post.
Thank you.
WOW! I can't get over the beautiful lavender hues in the sky! Just beautiful! And is this you and your daughter? You are both lovely! ♥
I love those beach photos, so beautiful!
I have always DREAMED of living in Fl. but now think I might not be able to handle the summers there! I would love to live SOMEWHERE warmer than PA. though:):):) XO, Pinky
Lovely photos! Ella sends Bo a wag!
I just turned on the AC here! Supposed to be a high of 90 tomorrow and I'm not waiting!!!:)

Beautiful post!
Yes!!!! It is certainly hot. Our faithful, furry friend comes in from his walks and heads straight to the pool. He walks down a few steps and sits, enjoying the cool (still comfortable) water. Maybe he'll swim to the spa area and back a couple of times. When he deigns to step out of the pool, he barely shakes off the water, then flops down in the shade. What a life!
Jane (artfully graced)
Written so beautifully. I remember
many Summers in Miami. Stay cool and Keep Calm...
I miss the evening walks on Deerfield beach.

We in South Florida salute your post!
Lovely.
Yep, Florida...heat seeping into every crack, unrelenting heat in the summer. Actually, it's just as hot up in Minnesota...at least it was when I was up there yesterday...humid, humid, humid, hot, hot, hot 93 degrees...thought I came north to cool down. Well, OK, it does cool down at night. In Florida, it doesn't...right?
Fab post and beautiful words/poem! And I'm so envious as winter has set in here in Sydney.
Your post was cooling to read! Hope you are staying moderately cool in the rising temps!

oh...
dreaming of HOT in your COOL environment. I would dip my toes in the pool, run my hands through the water in the fountain...then sit with a cool drink under the lime green umbrella.
I would
Such an enjoyable post. Summer is calling!
What a perfect description of life on the peninsula. There is something sweet and special about the place surrounded by water and soaked in sunshine. Lovely!
Viginia summers can be quite hot and muggy too! Especially hard on the poochy!
Stay cool and enjoy the long weekend!
Lovely sentiments, lovely photos - lovely pool, lovely women in the photo - YOU and your daughter maybe??
Not a bad life you have there, Ms. Linda! Fabulous, in fact! And I love it when your doggie gets in. Stay cool, -s
Hey Linda~
I was hoping to find some tropical gardening pictures this time of year. Lovely pictures. Water sure helps make the heat bearable.
Donna
May in Texas...96 degrees already, and unlike you, I don't have an ocean to go jump in! I have a lab/dane mix, and he's my favorite buddy...great dog! Henry and your dog would be grand friends!
Absolutely beautiful, Linda!
How beautiful your garden looks... and oh that walk by the beach, so great!!!!
Cariños,
Maria Cecilia
Holy cow. So beautiful. Soon as I figure out the teleportation thing ... or "Beam me up Scotty!"
Ah lovely. The whole thing. Photos, colors, words....thank you.
Mary Ann
PS. Cute dog, too--looks like a good life.
