uh, oh, someone else is getting sucked into the dark side like myself :) i say do it! you can always throw a colorful or light throw on it for the hot days.
Don't get me wrong...I LOVE swiss army blankets but I like to (at least imagine) that you are in too tropical a locale for this look to work. Won't they be itchy?! Limes, coconuts, Swiss Army blankets... I'm worried...
What if you were to upholster one in the blanket and one in a matching grey linen...then you would have a snug winter chair and a light summer chair!!!!.. just a thought! The blanket looks great on the chair
Oh, how I envy you those Swiss army blankets...I just adore their white cross on a colored ground. I have them on several travel bags and sun visors from our trip there but that's it.
yes, yes, YES!!!! LOVE it! Can't wait to see them when you're done. Stinks about the monograms...you know she turned around and sold everything on Etsy!
First, I want to know how Steve knows about wearing Hot Pants?!! Or, maybe not!! And secondly- I think the look is great, but too worry about them being itchy- what about pillows! Is the fabric soft or itchy?!
The fabric is actually quite soft...not as soft as the velvet velour on now...which IS scrunchy cozy. Now....where o where would I put the cross/crosses??? Hmmmmm????
I vote for Army Blankets to Pillows! Non-committal, seasonal yet very cool...when it's cold. And they hide during hot pant season! Could even become long body pillows for the bed instead...have you hugged your Swiss Army pillow today?! Caroline
I love the look but I think itchy when I see wool blankets. I had two really old ones from my Grams but no matter how I tried to use them they always remained a big itch.
Linda - YES use the blanket! BUT, find linen that you like in combination with the wool. Feature the blanket stripe & cross on the loose back cushion. Chair frame is all wool blanket (if there is enough). Bottom cushion could be wool (w/stripe) on one side, using the linen on the other side and the edges. This gives you "flip-ability"! When you start piecing it together more options will appear. Looking forward to the photos. :-) Cheers!
Looks a little drab for your surroundings. The same colors/pattern in a slicker fabric might work better. Having said that, it is your house and you have such good taste so if you like it, do it. You can always change it. nellie

I say itchy too, like, when you wear hot pants?
I don't know... might work? I would rather curl up in the chair and cozy up in one of those beautiful blankets!
It's always SO cold here. Hate that. I want to move back to Florida!!
