Stuff…tropical {ish} and such….

The Garden Conservancy held a few garden tours in our little town…

always fun. Always something to inhale and learn…

This lovely home was a LEED certified home. Green through and through…

loved the use of rain chains throughout.

They all spilt into the ground or pots… which were collected by two 8,000 gallon cisterns buried in the yard… used to water the lawn.

…and that’s important…no? Okay.No.

What a lovely home. Great blue on the shutters and I love the railings. I can just imagine the scents of all those beautiful blooming plants you have down there. What a lush and gorgeous garden.

Your phone cover is soooo cool.

Oh Carla...you haven't lived until you have smelled the scent of ALL of or the orange blossoms surrounding our town blooming at the same time! Heady and redolent with the warm sub tropics.....

Adorable little thing you picked up at the thrift store! And I'm fascinated by the rain chain and huge rainwater storage tanks...thinking people live there!

They must have had at least 10 rain chains...and when the 8,000 gallon cisterns are filled up with water, this little stained glass butterfly pops out of the ground...kinda amazing and sureal at once! So clever.

i was just touring a much more modest abode in Ohio with a client where the owner collected rain water for his little vineyard....such a good, GREEN idea! Love all your photos..the first shot is gorgeous! And to be able to smell orange blossoms in force, sounds heavenly for sure!

Happy Sunday!

Gorgeous photos!

Those cisterns have me boggling (but good for them); they certainly puts my 2 plastic rainbarrels in perspective.

That beautiful orange and pink paisley is a recent fabric find, yes? Either way, your back is no doubt thanking you such attractive support ;)

I've always loved those rain chains but wasn't sure if they worked. I've never seen anyone around here use them. They might be more of a problem where things freeze. Love the butterfly too. I love when function has a beautiful form.

From the rain chains to the wall vines; this home is my heaven... not to mention it is also green! I absolutely love it. This one is getting pinned for sure :)

LOVE that house! And so smart to do the rain chains and cisterns. Very impressive. I'd love to have something like that at my next house. And very cool that they use the butterfly to signal when they are full. Also love all your new goodies!

Linda, you just might have to help me with my living room! You have a great eye and great taste! Love the horse and the pillows - everything really!

The rain chains are beautiful and what a great idea! Thanks for sharing!!

Love it. I've had it through a few showers now and I have to say the sound of the water running down the copper rain chains is a welcome addition to a gentle rain.
