So…Do you all…

Ever save images…and title them something like

Living room inspiration…with no other credits?

lr insp

Is it just me?

SO…as I wait for my nailheads and wax to come…to finish two other projects...

I peruse a bunch of LR inspiration pics

and I’m not sure what I loved

something in each of them, undoubtedly.

I recently found some Benjamin Moore Aura paint in Marscapone

yum...i am sooo distarcted by the name of paint...you?

that I plan to paint our LR and maybe foyer with...

just splotched it on...like?

IMG_4965

Maybe that is why I saved this image...

Aha… no. This one is for the shelves…painted white. I plan on that.

watch me experiment…more splotching...

This one above is for the art…I am sure...We have an abundance of mismatched art

that I love in all of it's mismatched glory….that I want up. This one has been leaning behind the couch

tsk tsk

I think this one above was for the big art. maybe.

I’m getting confrused, scooby.

Do you all do this?

Do you all have any suggestions?

Do you all know whose images these are?…cause I would love to note them. Really.

Haven't a clue about whose photos those are. But as usual you get me to thinking. I have a ton of mismatched art. I'm thinking that I like less on the walls right now. I alternate between streamlining things and then cluttering it up. Funny white must be making a comeback. I painted my room a warm cream color and so far have nothing on the walls and am really enjoying the whole Amish type feel in there.
I mentioned you on my blog so maybe you'll see some new folks visiting.

I used to do that with images all of the time, now i use Evernote (Free!) and "clip" the image, it saves the image and the source! So much easier. Here's my public Evernote if you'd like to see it, maybe you'll like it? http://www.evernote.com/pub/theshadesofpink/inspiration

I was going to suggest what Sheri already said - Evernote! I clip everything, and it links right back to the source.

I'm not the only one who does that - phew! I'm dying to know more about that first room!!!

I have no idea whose images they are but they are all impressive rooms. I do cut outs from magazines for inspiration. I like ot spread them all out on the floor before me. :)

I do this all the time....although since I started blogging, I am trying to do better. I will have to check out the suggestion from one of your readers, because for me right now....post it notes on everything!

Funny, I do the same thing. I HAVE started trying to remember to memo myself under the pix description when I save it. Are we all tired of colored walls? I have been thinking A LOT about creamier, whiter walls.
I like how you just paint it on the wall, I do that too and have my clients do the same!

I dog-ear pages in magazines and then try to figure out what was so special about that page. So yeah I get you:) Cool images...no wonder you saved them.

Me too, have to look into evernote! Color names, oh, you got me there..., the name has to be right, or I don't buy the color. Silly, silly me. And with right I mean "sea related" like ocean mist or sea foam.

It is strange that you mentioned this today... Last night, I pulled out a folder of saved ideas and, like you, I did not save the credits, magazine names, dates...ANYTHING, but the photos. (This was before blogging, so maybe that can be my excuse.)

Although I have no idea re: the sources of your photos, you have some truly great inspirations in them. I especially love the mismatched are (I would like that!) and it has inspired me to rethink a wall in my family room. Time to get out the paints, again!
Have a fab weekend!

Linda, the first image is wonderland! Love everything in it!

I know that image 4 (with the shelves) is a Swedish home via Skona Hem. It is all that white!

Happy weekend! And I am looking forward to seeing your new walls. I need someone to push me to the paint store!

Well, I have to admit something, now that you mention it...I'm so guilty of doing this 3/4 of the time!

HA! You are so cute! I do save images in a house idea folder, and I rip pages out of magazines and put them in scrapbook type binders called Drool Books. Thank you for the BD wishes!!! It's off to a great start. Have fun with Milo! He is so photogenic and has overcome his fear of large dogs biting him into tiny little pieces...unless the Dane does something. **kisskiss** Deb

Exactly the right thing to do, Linda!...your magazine pics are so you and what you're up to...I can see the changes coming on...still working on the big butt chair?

That's why I always read the comments too!
I just learned about Evernote from your readers and plan on checking it out.
I love the site Houzz because you can have a file to refer to as well.

All of the time! Especially my pre-blogging days images. I am definitely considering "Evernote" because I've heard it mentioned on a few different blogs. Might be worth exploring! Have a great weekend! Marija

This post made me laugh because I always show my Husband photos for inspiration and he'll say "I do not like that room". And I'll say "no I'm talking about the color of that end table.

Now I have files on wishpot.com labeled 'windows', 'kitchens', etc. There's an area for notes, or you can title it...and then find the link again. It even gives you a little button to add to your toolbar. No I'm not getting paid for this.

g+m said...

I save my pictures titled with what I liked about the room, so I don't have that problem. I don't have a blog, and I'll never be able to afford a designer, so I don't bother with crediting the pictures.

The one with the mismatched art and table with two chairs I've seen before . . . or rather, seen a later, more done up version of the same room, at least three times on different blogs. Can't remember who it belongs to, though. Someone in New York who works for a magazine. The cream colored frame near the top left corner is a drawing done by his kid.

Renée Finberg said...

i used to do that too (forget a pic's source).
but lately i stamp the name on them in paint.
i think those rooms are great.
...some have a fear of 'color'.
i have a fear of white.
go figure.

What ever you decide will be gerat Linda, as you've just got it girl! But please so the BIG art thing, I so love that look, but our dodgy, sloped, weird ceilings mean they cut my walls off & they aren't big enough. I'll just have to live voraciously through you!
