Save the Whales…

So as summer and sun and heat ramble in , It’s time to turn to the cool blues

of water...

I don’t have much blue in this casa…

but am thinking of painting a wall in the den one of these colors of cool water

but I can play around with a few pillows…

and Henry.

He is a whale of rather large proportions of the lightest most diaphanous linen

I love him. you can find one here

But...

I’m just not sure what to do with him

any suggestions?

Then... when you figure that out,

meet my new found friend…

Penelope

her lot in life will most likely be a tea towel…

But Henry is far to big and fancy for that.

Why not stretch him on a wood frame and hang him like art? He is wonderful and I love the wave!

By the way I am not 'OLD' just 'OLDER'!

Henry should fall in a long sleep in a wardrobe till you find a wonderful place for him! And Penelope could spend a nice time on a (red) chair!

Salut!

I love your eclectic mix of art work. I really love to see people display their art. I am sure what ever you do with him, Henry will look right at home in your lovely house. Thanks for letting us take a peek!

You DO come up with the darndest things, Linda! He does seem like a stretched canvas...with a backing, of course...out in the horse barn that you're redoing as a guest house this summer? He could be the centerpiece on a wall.

Girl, you need more walls!

He is wonderful I agree with stretching him as art or even cutting it into a tryptich and hanging him above the sofa. He would make a wonderful chaise cushion also. Table runner would be fab!!! I love him,Kathysue

My first thought was to stretch it on canvas, it is so beautiful! Hang over your sofa OR Make sepereate pillows out of him and line them on a sofa! Like a puzzle. LOL.

When I first saw Henry I thought he would be fabuloso stretched out on a wood frame and hung somewhere you can enjoy his happy face! I adore your mix of art and your way of putting all together!

KO...Noble cause. It all makes Henry seem like a...well...piece of diaphonous linen.

Thank you.

I second the suggestion to hang him in the barn you're renovating! You find the neatest things!

Great ideas, I think he is awesome too. He has to be shown off. Hanging him on a rod would show that he is printed onto fabric where as stretching would make it look like a sketch or painting though...

Stretching on canvas seems too obvious to me. Perhaps hanging from a rod, but only if you could splice him up, add a lining & hem and use him as really great window treatment...ala cafe curtains. Other option is as pillows or upolstered bench or seat cushion. And, he'd make a great love seat!

I love that is name is henry. I think he would look lovely above a bed sans headboard!

Hmm... mounted on a deeper warm linen and hung from a beautiful piece of dark wood ...
He's awesome. :)

that is the coolest find!!
i am thinking....
too bad you don't have another big butt chair that you could incorporate this fabric into.
but it would really have to showcase the whale's face.

I love him!! He's fantastic!! You could do one large, oversized lumbar pillow for the entire couch - although he might still get cut off a bit.

Thanks for your comment!! We have never heard the comparison to James on American Idol, but he has gotten "Have you ever been told you look like... (Ashton Kutcher/Val Kilmer/Brad Pitt" before. I just had to Google James and I couldn't believe it! A total doppleganger. I couldn't help but giggle. :)

You know you are speaking my (color) language with those blues. Everything is looking seasonally set!

Henry is wonderful, but hmmm, how to do him justice? All suggestions so far are intriguing, and I do like the idea of a whale in a barn, ha!

Do you have any doors in that joint of yours or just gorgeous archways?

For some reason I wonder how H. would like being dipped in fabric starch and mounted vertically to a door. When it's time for him to migrate, just peel him off and wash down the door....

ps Terribly lax with commenting these days but enjoying your photos and musings as always!
