Women at work…

At dark thirty in the morning

three generations

of this family's women went to work…

My 82 year old mother…my 15 year old daughter…and moi.

To help construct a Habitat for Humanity home.

With a whole slew of other women from the community.

see the whole line-up of darling homes down the street?…all community built…every nail.

Today it was all women. Sisters, grandmothers, mothers daughters…

Building hope and home for a deserving family.

When the noon whistle blew…the family who we were building for served us lunch

homemade tamales. yum.

thank you Senora Vargas!

We learned, we worked shoulder to shoulder...

We built.

Habitat for Humanity…advocating for

simple, decent

and affordable houses in every community.

Help. Build. Belong.

you won’t be sorry.

Happy Mother's Day, Linda. Cool that your mom, daughter, and you joined the Habitat crew. Feels good, constructive, many nice people to be with.

Allen and I did the Habitat thing for a couple we donate our energies to a migrant worker development in Dade City.

We both had a productive weekend ... while you were building a house for someone, I was doing the women's cancer walk!

Blessings and light to you my friend!

A fabulous way to spend the day not only with your mom and daughter, but with other moms, grandmoms and daughters. I love this idea!!!

My husband and I did this a couple of years ago. It is so rewarding.

Ms V makes her tamales the same way we do. OK I say we I think I have made 2 times in my life, more like my mom!! xo
